  1. Yup, @AndyTravis is right - this is pretty much an exact OC-2 in a red box.
  2. Bass (mostly fretless Jazz) - pedalboard - zoom 607 as a headphone amplifier, I’m toying with an EHX headphone amp as they’re battery powered too, and significantly smaller. The 607 is a lot of fun though.
  3. an iPhone on the same wifi network as this will work as a remote control. We have to do this when our remote periodically goes missing - often down the back of a sofa.
  4. Most of the Eagles' output and 'Lily the Pink' by Scaffold.
  5. Let’s be honest, it’s safer than stacking them vertically!
  6. Equine, Women and Song - Whitesnake
  7. Really useful as an envelope filter - it'll do up and down sweeps depending on where you set the start and stop frequencies. Pretty decent octave too.
  8. Speaking as an Englishman, I think the attraction with moving ‘North of the wall’ would be that I wouldn’t be living in England anymore.
  9. well, that means we don't need to buy another bass - where's the fun in that?
  10. James Hetfield offering him a million dollars to join Metallica might have something to do with it…
  11. Another vote for Stu Hamm here too. I bought one of his albums on the recommendation of another bass player and was spectacularly underwhelmed. His tone seems to lack any kind of low end too.
  12. Somewhere there's a really beautiful version of this played by Dorian Gray.
  13. Looks like he ran the bit too hot when doing the headstock. Oh, burnished you say? Intentionally? It's like shooting fish in a barrel.
  14. Thing with putting batteries in pedals that are on boards is that they drain current as soon as there is a jack in the input. If you don't unplug the lead from the input jack then it will drain the battery in a matter of hours even though you're not playing through it, whether they're switched on or not. Having to unplug each individual pedal after a gig kind of negates having a board in the first place. I've heard of people using USB power cells with a booster to give 9vDC, but haven't used one myself.
  15. A huge departure from the awesome playing in the video above, but this really impressed me as a budding bassist in the 90s. Steve Vai - Guitar TM Stevens - Bass Devin Townsend - Vocal Terry Bozzio - Drums It's quite the ensemble.
  16. Monster player! I first heard of him when he played on Steve Vai’s ‘sex and religion’ album and he was GREAT on that, but it turns out I’d been listening to him for much longer as a hired gun for loads of other people. A sad loss.
  17. Nice! Is it polyphonic like the original freeze? I used to love sticking chords into mine.
  18. Crustacean to station - David Bowie
