  1. Lovely bass shame it’s the rosewood version otherwise I would have been tempted.
  2. Ampeg SVT Pro Mk II I am reducing this and making a substantial loss on it but I need it gone as I am moving house. I can’t post it and a commercial courier wouldn’t touch it because of the weight. You’ll need to come and pick it up so I figure reducing it by a chunk may incentivise a potential buyer to put petrol in a car and drive over to Lancaster. I will consider trades - try me. This is definitely a massive bargain. Classic US built valve amp. You’ll no doubt have seen or heard one of these in action at major gigs and festivals over the years. I’ve played through a couple and they shift huge amounts of valve power through the right cab. My little Jennings cab can’t cope! There’s lots of info online about these - I got it in a recent part trade with Walshy. I have to be honest and say it’s a beautiful beast of an amp but just too big for my needs and so I’m selling it on. It’s got a very nice flight case with it and is all there having recently been serviced - It didn’t come with a mains lead but it’s your normal kettle lead job. Strictly pickup in person. I can’t lift or even pack things at the moment owing to tendon surgery. I’m selling for what it owes me and what it was originally listed at. I’d consider trades for a similar value instrument or amp. A short scale bass plus balance - eg short scale Sterling Stingray plus £300. Or a nice Precision with a maple board. Try me with trades through PM but keep in mind you’ll have to come to me as I can’t travel at the moment. Thanks for looking. There’s a good article about it here - https://www.guitarinteractivemagazine.com/review/ampeg-svt-2-pro-amplifier/ I’ve reduced it as I’m moving house and need a quick sale. Try me on trades. I need it gone really as it’s just too big for me to take with me. Once again to those who have asked it’s pick up in person only.
  3. Another successful deal with Alain - this time for a Sterling SB14 (not a P bass for once) which sadly I can’t play for a few months but it looks superb. Good to catch up as ever. Cheers Alain!
  4. Ruairidh bought my old faithful EBMM Sterling bass - quick payment and excellent, friendly communication perfect! Many thanks.
  5. The early JVs are Sen ash or alder. I would imagine alder as it’s a solid colour and light.
  6. Hofner Contemporary Violin Bass The bass is like new and comes with a Hofner case. It has been modded to look like the vintage German made models - whitened switches, teacup knobs and flat wound black nylon Pyramid strings. It comes with original knobs, strings and tags. It’s a lovely bass to play - I’ve owned several German basses vintage and modern and this sounds and plays as well as the best of these. The pickups are German made and sound great. Use the neck pickup only and you’ve got that famous ‘rooftop concert’ tone. A very light and versatile bass. I’m happy to post at buyer’s cost in the UK no trades thanks.

  7. Exactly - £400 would be plenty.
  8. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/404250703684?hash=item5e1f383744%3Ag%3Axb4AAOSwEOlkPnR4&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwOg6G%2Frh740EEJPzYdzXzPf%2FuNFYXhX3pZlj3xsbLOm2swl%2B1z4Ex%2FlOsWmLA9vmEA850wAdwQzw0iOMGoHf3HyJea3aJ2z%2F7eJ%2F%2FktgBJbX3wUnAN2NgAXUGOnz0wpcMZLo935D8TqtKDVGDJoTQ9D17%2BG1oqN6Ct5Yxu2OaqEZxVrd5P3ScoJ7JEOHqtYmQIFpOV9mH%2B8J%2FgoYl322WkIMWZcY%2BWvMd0oXEDpvcnOaOTGVLb1%2BxFkBtn3bcY1TfA%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR4jInsDyYQ&LH_ItemCondition=3000
  9. No sorry as it’s needed on another bass.
  10. I had this bass for a while too, hope it finds a good home. It was a lovely instrument but a little too heavy for me. Whenever it crops up I’m tempted! GLWTS
  11. Not sure if this counts but I had an operation on my fretting hand a week ago and will not be able to play for at least three months. Therefore my ‘bass’ for this period will be my newly acquired Roland VR-09 keyboard.
  12. Musicman Sterling USA This is a lovely MusicMan Sterling bass from 2004 it’s in excellent condition and comes with a basic gig bag. It’s not to be confused with the cheaper models with the confusingly similar name - this is a US made bass of a very high quality. The person I bought it from had it refinished in black as the original gold finish had some damage. The finish is fine but has some scuffs and blemishes. The bass has an incredible neck with a very narrow nut width like a Jazz bass, action is low with lots of life in the frets and a fully working trussrod. The bass weighs under 3.9kgs and is very comfortable for long gigs. All hardware and electrics are original (the eagle eyed will spot it’s wearing a Hipshot D tuner but I will remove that if it sells) and the preamp is very flexible and sounds fantastic. The reason I’m selling is because I’m moving house and need to release some funds, I’m temporarily unable to play bass so I’m selling the basses I’m not sentimentality attached to. At some point I will buy another Sterling but with a maple board. These are fabulous instruments. No trades. UK only. Pickup preferred but I would consider posting at buyer’s expense. If it is still on here it is still available. Price including UK post. No offers.

  14. This is the first 50 watt version of the Micromark and it comes complete with the satellite tweeter. It’s an Italian made combo very sturdily built and in very good condition. You can use it stand alone or with a bigger cab and it is a one hand lift. I’ve used it at small gigs with two guitarists and it worked really well but I doubt it would be much use without PA support with a loud rock drummer. It’s a great little amp for rehearsals, small room gigs and home use. It also has an auxiliary in. Happy to post free mainland UK no trades sorry. Mains lead and tweeter lead included. Description from the website Markbass: SPEAKER 1x6 " TWEETER optional "satellite" tweeter included IMPEDANCE 8 ohms SPEAKER POWER HANDLING 50W RMS (AES Standard) AMP OUTPUT POWER 50W @ 8 ohm PREAMP: solid state FREQUENCY RESPONSE 70 Hz to 8 kHz SENSITIVITY 100 dB SPL WEIGHT 9.26 lbs / 4.2 kg HEIGHT 8.86 in. / 22.5 cm WIDTH 8.86 in. / 22.5 cm DEPTH 8.62 in. / 21.9 cm Connection level: An auxiliary input, headphone output, DI output, a tweeter output, a switch "ground lift". 15. Nice looking Precision Brian, pity it doesn’t have a maple board.
  16. Nord Electro 3 V4.1 Organ Piano Keyboard 73 Key Version Excellent piano and organ sounds for live and studio work. There is full midi plus USB to load sample based sounds such as choirs, Mellotron, synths and brass. The keyboard is the ‘waterfall’ version with weighted keys and a lovely action. It comes with a generic gig bag and power lead. The keyboard has been gigged quite regularly and the wooden end cheeks have dings and scuffs to them. The metal case has some scrapes and minor paint wear but nothing nasty. Keyboard and all knobs and switches work perfectly. It’s a lovely unit but I want to downsize to the smaller keyboard version. Pickup preferred as it is heavy but I can post at buyer’s expense in the UK only.
  17. It must have done but it wasn’t on the bass when I bought it and it isn’t a standard feature. I have an old perspex Hayman bridge cover that may fit. I bought it from a woman who got it for her husband - he died in 2017. It was also worked on by Martin Nash at some point as there is a signed wiring diagram in the control cavity, sadly Martin - who was a Basschatter who I knew and I traded Shergold gear with many times - died last year. Did the bass have a fretless board when you had it? What was the serial number? I’m interested in their history. I added side dot inlays as it didn’t have the usual black binding and white dots.
  18. Still available I’m not looking for trades I want to release funds for a new keyboard.
  19. I got a great deal on an acoustic bass. Absolutely bulletproof packing, great communication and quick postage. Many thanks Joe!
  20. Thanks Paul however I’ve had some not exactly wonderful experiences when trying to sell on FB so I’ll stick to here for the time being.
  21. A beautiful 1983 MIJ Squier JV Precision ‘57 style in excellent condition with all original parts. When I bought it it was wearing a black scratchplate but I’ve returned the original white single ply plate to the bass. It has a wonderful neck with a shallow profile and under 42mm nut width. The original pickup has the raised pole pieces under the A string and as a result has a lovely balanced sound. Neck is lovely, no dings other than the usual headstock knocks at the top edge. Frets are excellent and truss rod turns and works. There are a few minor dings and touch ups to the body finish. Nothing nasty or structural, evidence of a bass that has earned its keep over 40 years. It’s light at 3.8kgs and balances perfectly. It has the threaded bridge and reverse Kluson style tuners. These basses are very highly regarded and very collectible. I’m asking what it owes me and yes I will post in the UK at buyers cost and I have a basic case for it now. I’ve reduced the price for a quick sale as I’m moving soon. You won’t find a nicer JV at this price. I’d consider a trade for a short scale Sterling Stingray plus cash my way or a Sterling SB14 plus cash my way. No other trades wanted thanks.
  22. Alex bought my KARP (Korg Odyssey) from me, great communication and quick payment. Pleasure to trade with.
  23. Beautiful - very sorry to hear about your health issues.
