      Not sure if this helps, but i made one last week to post a bass within the UK.

      Get two strong cardboard bike boxes from Halfords, and an hour or so with a Stanley knife and some gaffer tape.

      Cut one of the boxes into an oversized guitar case, and cut the other box into sheets/smaller pieces to reinforce the back, front, ends and create a cradle for the neck/headstock. Pack the rest with crunched up newspaper or bubblewrap, and you'll have a free, very light, very strong container for shipping.

      Gear4Music was fine for me when I did this. The buyer paid for a case to be delivered to me and then I used the box to send it to him with the bass inside. Worked out really well actually, with the seller happy with everything!

      Fender flea 

      Or maybe i should trade them 😁

      @big rob - I'd start with your least favourite, or least used one of those two....
      Or if they're equal in both respects, perhaps put them both up for sale, and see which goes first?
      If you sell one at a time, it may not seem such a "wrench"

    Hi all,

    Thinking of getting the new Fender flea Active, however i have yet to see one in the UK.

    Does anyone have one and if so what are your thoughts on it.

      Not seen one myself either. They do look good IMO. And the "old" passive one is a great bass. Lightweight, lovely playable neck, great sound - so if it's anything like that :)
      If can't control your GAS, and end up getting one, let us know what you think

    Hi All,

    Have a Sire V7 on the way but i need a preamp as it is missing the original. 

    Would like a Sire one but if not i will go passive and hopefully stack knob like the 62. 

    Let me know what you have lying around.

      You could buy a v3 put that preamp in the v7 and keep the v3 as passive instrument

      its the same preamp in all sires.

      Not when you consider a John east Marcus Miller pre is almost the same price as a whole v3

      If you are going to troll out a textile based play on words on the front page of Basschat just because of Jono's dislike of felt covered cabs you need to be prepared for the consequences.

      Where IS the best place to get felt?
