1. I bought RockfordStone's Zoom B2.1u, it was a pleasure to do business with him, quick to respond to any questions I had and he made she he answered them all properly, he also provided well taken and detailed pictures of the item. He posted it yesterday and I received it this morning at 7:45am, it was very well and neatly packed with paper and bubble wrap on the outside with the pedal its self also being packed in well with bubble wrap, there was no way this could ever get damaged! If he has anything else to sell in the future I will have no hesitation in buying from him again. Regards Ben.
2. I know exactly what you mean, as you can guess by my signature I love Yamaha there is just something about them that make them right for me. When ever I picked up other basses no matter of its cost or make it feels like just another bass granted some very nicely made and great sounding... but they aint my TRB
3. Wow... That was just painful to watch imagine what the other guys in the band felt like!
4. Can anyone suggest some decent flats? Im currently using Picato, they are ok but the tension is a bit high for me I want something a bit looser if possible.
5. Thanks for the suggestions, I have been looking at a Zoom B2.1U and from what iv been told (and seen) they are a pretty solid choice. Now starts my hunt for one!
6. Welcome! =) Always nice to see another Welshy around ^^ See you round
7. So iv been meaning to start using effects in my playing to give my sound more of an edge, I thought the best way was to go down the multi effects way (to start with) so it gives me a chance to play around with all sorts without to much fuss. Could anyone suggest which ones to look at? From what I know Zoom seems to be a solid choice but there are loads of different models out there! Could someone help? Cheers.
8. Yo man im interested in buying if you still got it? Whats its condition like? Cheers.

10. Ours was the Penarth Music Festival in South Wales, it was fantastic everything went to plan and we got the crowd up and moving and asking for more, cant ask for better than that!
11. A lot of the price comes with the name, its a bit like cars, for instance Skodas are made in a VW factory so you get the same build quality but because of the name the Skoda will be cheaper. Iv played a few Tanglewood and Hudson basses and both seem great to me although with the Hudson you can get models in different wood types and stuff but its mostly cosmetic differences.
12. What up guys im Ben, I used to use this forum a lot but as of late (past year and a bit) I dont think iv been on once! Shocking I know im not proud either. Anyway things are back on track and I hope to get the old activity going again! Looking forward to speaking to some cool people. Peace out.
13. I know how you feel bassman as I feel the same way about my BB414 and also about my RBX374. I dont think it will matter how many "better" basses I will buy I dont think I will be able to let go of either of those.
14. I also use Status Hot Wire half-rounds which I use on my TRB-5 and they are great, they sound smooth and punchy like flat wounds when I need them too but when I turn up the treble they have a great attack and twang to them like a round wound. For a 4 string set they are £16.99, 5 string set is £21.50 and a 6 string set are £23.50. Defiantly worth a try.
15.
There was a second hand Yamaha TRB1005 in the classifieds recently for about £400. Brilliant basses.
Great shout for TRBs. I have a Yamaha TRB 5 II 10 years old in perfect condition, intact the guy used it so little in that time the original strings were almost new! I got it for £350 sh, absolute bargin and one of the best instruments iv played. Friend of mine has a 5 string peavey which he has had for years, another top quality bass which he picked up for around the £300 mark, sounds great too he uses it for all his gigs.
16. Anything made by Ibanez or Yamaha are always going to be a good option to start with. You can pickup a great condition Yamaha BB414 for under the £200 mark. They are great basses, I use mine all the time as my "go to" bass. Best thing with Yamaha or Ibanez is they are really great quality items for a great price and built like tanks. Sound wise they are easily good enough through beginner onwards. True workhorses.
17. Really nice and modern great job!
18. Bought the Hartke Kickback 12 combo from Moos3h, great guy to deal with and fast with his responses. Pleasure doing business with him and would do it again any time!
19. Iv been waiting for a Cardiff bass bash for ages im in!

21. If I had the money I would happily spend £2600 on a Yamaha Super BB or Yamaha Attitude 3 ...if only
22.
Cheers for all the suggestions guys! I had a look into all of them, and then it turned out my friend was selling his Yamaha BB415, so he's got that for a tidy £200, leaving him with £100 to spend on a nice cable and strap It's all black, nice and classy looking, so it should fit in with most styles he wants to play. Pretty much perfect condition. Very nicely set-up. The main thing is the neck's really great to play and the action's nice and low with no buzzing, so he should be able get around the board easily enough with his smaller hands. Also the P/J combo covers a good deal of tonal ground and sounds pretty good. The construction's solid, being Yamaha, so it should last him too. Strung with DR Fatbeams too, which is a nice bonus! Mission success?
+1 for Yamaha Never go wrong with a Yammy. I have a BB414, I have it fitted with flatwounds and its always been my go to bass. Great tone phat sound, he wont be disappointed
23. I have a 374 they are great basses! £50 is a bargin to be honest. Tone wise its extremely versatile, its very light but shoots out noise like a mother! You wont go wrong for buying it.
24. I wear all mine medium its just the most comfortable playing position for me and plus its a good hight to rest my arm on when im not playing.
