Having said that I have bought from them in the past and they always fitted. Still, for that kind of cash it should unwrap itself and fit it for ya! Time to have a looky at Allparts..... Jez
You can get scratchplates fro about £10 on ebay ... but they don't fit and they look rubbish .. You get what you pay for...
 2.
I take your Bootsy and raise you Larry G... and 'Hair' (still love Bootsy tho) M
It may be sacrilegious to say so, what with Larry being a funk God and all, but for me there's not enough space in that to make it funky .....
 3. Great description of how to do this. I dab a little Pritt Stick glue on shims to hold them in pace during re-assembly and subsequent neck removal for truss rod fiddlin'.

 8. Jam session. Noodling along for my couple of dad rock specials then a guy came up to sing. He was a sikh complete with turban and said he didn't sing in English but to just follow him. 30 seconds of bolywood style Bagra vocals later me and the drummer joined in. Staying on A .. I just thought "what would Wobble do?" and did that. We stoked up a really cool grove and it turned out to be the best 10 minutes of the evening ..
 9.
Was your coat obscuring the "B" possibly?
I played in a band that had a link up with community outfit in South Africa and we were all part of a project called Ubuntu (not the operating system ) and at one point there were 50 or so people all walking around Brecon Jazz festival with UNT visible on their tee shirts under jackets ...
 10. Waaaaaaah! Sad news Nick .. But i knwo what you mean about the width .. I hope things get better but not so fast that you kick yourself too hard ... If you see what I mean .. Worth £1200 of anyone's hard earned ...
 11.
I got mine and its amazing. So good that today, was the first day I wore it in public and the following happened, a. A lady a work winked at me. b. Two young girls in the que behind me at Waitrose started chatting to me. c. Upon leaving Waitrose, a very pretty blonde lady smiled at me. This sort of thing never normally happens to me and the only difference was I was wearing my uber cool basschat T-shirt out in public for the first time. Now, if I can find out where Keira Knightely lives, I may be in with a chance
Was your coat obscuring the "B" possibly?

 13.
Hi! My name's Simon Beck. I'm a 48-year-old self-taught multi-instrumentalist from south-east London, and I've just ordered a Stagg EDB in transparent blue from Thomann. My main instruments are keyboards and bass guitar, but I also play chromatic harmonica, rhythm guitar, Stylophone(!), percussion and Theremin. I also own an electric violin which I'm currently teaching myself to play. You can hear some of my multi-tracked solo work (mostly blues-based) at www.soundclick.com/simonbeck. I also currently play organ. electric piano and Stylophone with an 11-piece Ska/funk band called The Skanx (www.theskanxband.co.uk). I took a few double-bass lessons during my last year at school (my only attempt at learning an instrument properly) and have always wanted to own an upright bass, so when I was given a substantial sum of money as a birthday present from my Dad this year, I decided to take the plunge. I'll let you know how I get on. Hopefully my wife won't mind because it'll take up much less space than an acoustic...
Hi Simon That all sounds fabbo! No melodica? ina ska band? tsssk! Have fun with the Stagg
 14. Seems odd to interview / feature a relatively unknown USA based luthier when we have enough UK bass makers to fill that slot for about 5 years I appreciate it ties in nicely with the Richard Bona interview but it still seems like an odd thing. Was it a condition of getting the Bona interview, maybe?
 15.
Seen this vid before and it still raises the question "erm... so what exactly is his main instrument?!" I bet he can paint fine art with his toes and do really hard sums!
and rocket surgery..

 17.
Delilah - Alex Harvey, great middle section and sing along
I slip a bit of Alex's version in surreptitiously when playing with the Welsh acoustic Twmpath band I dep with .. if they've noticed they haven't said anything Crackin' OGWT version here complete with silly dance and suits
 18. Gosh, What a month . The red, white and Fender JV (I didn't mention that - special reserve ) have all gone off to good homes. So now I just have the keepers. Shuker P5 and MIJ P4 62RI, both in Jamerson sunburst, tort and rosewood... If anyone woud like a nice Esh Various 4 I'd be sorted, well, until the Wood & Tronics Ergon P-type (but not shape) arrives sometime ... That will then get me to where I was planning to be
 19. Round these parts the biggest waltz hit is Delilah (the unofficial Welsh National Anthem) but I like "Song for the life" by Rodney Crowell. Cover version here. Also done by John Denver and The Waterboys (on Spotify) We occasionally get some demo dancers dancing Q/S to Bad Moon Rising
