1.
I prefer your version too. I was wondering if it might possibly be true, in which case i'd be e-mailing everyone telling them how rude their favorite DIY shop is, so I googled it, and, no :-(
Off shoot of C&A possibly?
 2.
Can't wait to see some pics and get a bit of feedback of those Nordstrand pickups, see if they're worth the wait! Cheers, Eude
Hey! Brilliant Porn please Nordstrands? Oh gosh I hope so
 3. Just a heads up. The Maplins Aluminium Case is in the sale right now £15 rather than £30. I have two - on for my Markbass LMK (more protection than their bag and a lot cheaper) and another for effects and stuff.
 4.
Well the speed knobs were my little homage to Gibson, I did experiment with metal knobs but found that to be too much metal. What would you have used?
How about wooden knobs? http://www.thgknobs.com/ Rich has some other maker's ones on his Shuker Jazz. They were very reasonable ... Rich's Wooden Knobbie Thread
 5.
Thanks for pointing it out That was actually one of the first threads I noticed when I joined up - I'm working my way through contacting people one by one before I post an ad myself on the basis that if I ignore the ads that are already up, people will probably ignore mine too...
Cool ..
 6.
I've just moved to Bristol and have yet to meet any potential band members - I'm absolutely desperate for a band, really!
Rog'er you miught like to read This thread on finding bands in Bristol
 7.
MB1. Id have this, but to be honest i really dont trust the royal mail to deliver it without breaking it!.........Again.......and......again....and again and again!
Ho ho perhaps they'll run over it again and straighten it all out
 8. Just to clarify. I want this to go all together rather than break it up myself. The pup surrounds are broken too I'm just looking to cover the postage and for it to go and have a nice afterlife somewhere rather than chuck it or cannibalise it.
 9.
I've seen Dave Dearnaley in Cardiff do this exact repair - the SG is still being gigged nearly every night of the week to this day. I reckon it'd be about £150 for that repair.
Yeah that was a classic Gibson head joint break I think .. I am sure Dave could repair it but ... it's just an old B2B, chaps ... I'd rather the bits went off and had a new life (The corpse is for sale here)
 10.
you want a programme like Garage Band or similar.
Grrrrrrrrrrr I don't suppose they've release Garage Band for the masses have they? or is it still just Mac?

 13. Bassmandan has pointed out that my PO Modded Hohner B2B (for sale) could become one of those - for a lot less money too http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?s=&sho...ost&p=75921
 14. You probably know the score - headless wooden Steinberger copy from some time ago. Two EMG inspired passive pups, Steinberger licenced bridge and string retainer .. This particular one was extensively customised by the Post Office Story here Offers? 16.
Good point, Oxblood - Perhaps I'll doa full review when I go back & pick up one of their 6-stringers...
Hi OTPJ, Did you get the 6er? What do you think? OG
 17.
Or just give it a Korean name! Nobody has to know what it means, but I'm sure even "Ace Pro" in any mysterious foreign language has got to sound cool... I've got a "Flying" bass which I picked up for £60 - no apparent logic behind the naming and I've never managed to find any info about the company or any other Flying basses - you'd think they'd have more business sense than to name their product after some random English word...
Ha ha yeah but then there are famous tales of that, especially in cars Nova means "it don't go" in Spanish and MR2 pronounced in French means poo ...
 18.
oh why did you say that! I'll never be able to get that iimage out of my head now, all Warwicks are dead to me forever.
Had a Warwick Fortress 5 for a bit. The band called it the dildo bass ....
 19.
That and the name "Ace Pro" is far from confidence-inspiring
Yeah You'd think they could find a native English speaker somewhere in Korea to advise on that stuff...
 20.
Hi Phaedrus, We cover quite a few of the same songs. We've wanted to do 'Killing in the Name' for a while but haven't because we've just thought it is a bit too much for a regular pub gig. I'd be interested to know what sort of reaction it gets. cheers elom
Just checked out the youtube. Powerful stuff ... Might cover that at a later date but I'd change the lyrics. I'm not quite ready to sing the end bit in a public place. I'd add something about hearts and flowers; Moon, croon, spoon, june, dubloon, Lorna Doone .. You're my pride and joy, etcetera .. That sort of thing
 21.
This isnae fair ... I emailed Jon on Monday and he reckons mine will be another week or two. He said it was finished, he'd done the scratchplate but he still had to do the wiring, levelling the frets and set up to do. Have I already mentioned that this isnae fair ...
Keep tha' faith
 22.
If you're doing loads of leads and the like this is a useful bit of kit: http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?Module...=17m10#overview saves trying to hold four things at once and burning your fingers as the connectors heat up!
Yup that was on my Maplins shopping list
 23.
It's a tele bass I built. Pretty much like a G & L ASAT. I have found a good strap with some suede on the underside works well. ...nothing's perfect....A J is nice to strap on but a bitch to play on your lap, and this tele is a dream in the studio, sits nicely on the lap, gets all the tones I want but it is not the most confortable strap on....having said that, the positioning of strap pins can help some instruments but not all...if you have tried a Gretsch White Penguin you'd know......the neck gets 10 from the hi dive judges....
My tutor plays a aluminium necked small body bass from the 80's I think .. It's absolutely terrible to play in a normal position but he wears it Mark King style up around his trachea so it stays put. I just can't play it at all ...
 24.
I'm bummed. My order has been cancelled because of credit card indescrepancies!! They keep saying my addresses don't match. I moved house two months ago and everything has been sorted with my bank and cc provider but it just aint working on their site. Kind of f*£cked off. I wanted to call Rondo to sort it but there is no phone number and that Kurt guy went a bit cold on me. Looks like no SX for Tom.
I tried to use my credit card but their system wouldn't process it. You can use PayPal .. Just select it from the "select payment type" drop down on the shopping cart page.
 25.
basses are a little uncomfy to sleep with.. and they hog all the duvet someone told me...
Randy?
