1.
Here's what happens when you load a 4 cu ft cab with either one (yellow trace) or two Eminence (blue trace) 2512 twelves. With two twelves sensitivity jumps above 80 Hz, but dies below that. Above 80 Hz the ear is literally twice as sensitive as it is below 80 Hz, so there is a major difference in the relative 'loudness' of the two cabs, despite their being the same size. The trade off is that it will take four times the amplifier power to get the same output below 80 Hz from the 2x should you wish to do so.
OK Thanks
 2.
Search 'Fletcher-Munson' curves. The ear is more sensitive to midbass than low bass frequencies, and Schroeder cabs accentuate the midbass.
So could the effect be achieved by any cab with the right eq settings? It seems to be "more different" than that ...
 3.
but we now operate a strict one in one out rule at home
Oh that's nice ... famous too .. So is there anything in the rules about like for like? How close does it have to be? Could you, say, IN and new bass and OUT a full bag of recycled newspapers, a few wire coat hangers, an old mains lead and a few fridge magnets?? Wood, wires, magnets .. more or less the same basic ingredients ..... Worth a go ?
 4.
Au contraire, his cabs do exactly what the laws of physics demand that they will. In this case it's Hoffman's Iron Law. When you make the cab volume that a driver operates in smaller sensitivity rises, at the expense of low frequency response. It sounds louder, but doesn't go as low. If you want to go both loud and low you must go larger as well.
Bill can you explain how the Schroeder cabs allow us to be heard clearly all over the stage and venue at a relatively low volume? It's intriguing Thanks
 5. Had a really good time on Sunday on the BassDirect stand giving out Basschat cards and porn pictures of Mark's gorgeous basses. I was almost cured of GAS for now .. then I played that Wood and Tronics Chronos Klimt .. wooooooowwwww and despite only being able to play "Old Man" bass lines - I think that's what Mark said - just before he explained that if he played anything like that middle aged man slapping stuff in his band he'd be told to behave I really must get a "show set" together for these things. I suspect I was the only person in the whole shed playing folk waltzes, Andrew Lloyd Webber tunes and using a plectrum more than my thumb Missed Doug Wimbish but sounds like I didn't miss much there. James .. flog the Fender mate. You play way too well for production line stuff ...

 10.
Jon says more than 12, less than 20. I'm taking the minimum to be 20 though. That way I'll hopefully be surprised rather than disappointed!
Ha ha yeah I suggested he started giving longer build times as delivering at 20 weeks if brilliant if you said 25 weeks to start with but terrible if you said 15 weeks ....
 11.
Ive heard of him, just not of Wlico Johnson.
Wilco was a big influence on many a trio guitarist. Paul Weller for one. 12.
Ladies and Gentlemen. Unfortunately, due to the lateness of my return home and the fact that it's too bloody dark to take any, there will be no artistic stylee photos today. However, I have a picture of the maestro himself stood next to some be-spectacled fat bloke, holding a work of art. More pics tomorrow. Pete
Wow fabbo! that looks better than I imagined from the snippet pics ... great facings mate. Now away with you to play
 13. ".......As I was leaving with the bass between my teeth, Jon asked - "so how are you going to play it with no arms?" "Thought control sez I, thought control"." Thought it cost an arm and a leg rather than two arms
 14.
That's GORGEOUS! I'm going to get my deposit to Jon this week so hopefully in x number of weeks I'll have something approaching that to show! Health to enjoy
X times 1.5 I suspect
 15. These days you just have to do the Google search first and if there's a band already, anywhere, called that just cross it orf the list and walk away ... Nope Can't have Decades... http://www.thedecadesband.com/ Nice jackets! 21.
Hell yeah it was a TURBO diesel, a whole 1.9 litres of power. Actually it was pretty rapid. Fell apart later that term because of rust. Those shoes did too, both soles came off simultaneously in the middle of the town with no warning whatsoever.
Did you get Sole Patches?
 22.
Sorry - I think that was such a stupendous, once only, never-to-be-repeated "bargain of a life time" - that it used up not only all my 'points' - but everyone else's as well! And saying that - it has taken a HUGE amount of time, effort & expense to get it restored back to how it should be - & it's still not finished!
Yeah I know and I know the 57 is a scam .. I'm now 99.999999999% sure Oh and I also used up my "bargain instruments" points years ago .. (real 62 Precision for £110, real 69 King Super 20 Silversonic tenor for £400, Eden WT400 £120)) So I guess I'm just winding the guy up a bit .....
