2.
Hey, did you find out about the ohms of this amp? Very interested in it. Zach
Hi Zach Nope, never did, Sorry. Randall don't want to reply and there's nothing on the panels or in the manual ... 'Tis a mystery.
  3.
Wow! there's a blast from the past! I loved that album when I was at art college back when it came out. The songs were fantastic, the vocals were great, the production was superb. I'd really like to hear it again now. I've only got it on vinyl (somewhere??) so not very convenient.
Spotify? Bless the lot of ya!! (I'm off to do more Loungefly songs. We got an email off Rick Wakeman asking if he could play us on his planet rock show which is nice. So we are this and next Sat am apparently.)
He emailed you? Awesome! (in the old sense!)
  5.
Hi folks, One of my favourite albums is 'Strange Kind of Love' by Scottish band Love and Money. Bobby Paterson is credited with the bass duties - if you get a chance to hear the album, take it - There are some great basslines on there (very funky) and it sounds superb. The bluesy lead guitar work is also awesome. Finally, the band split up not long after making that album - If anyone knows what Bobby's up to these days, I'd be interested to know. Cheers. Steve
The album is on Spotify... http://open.spotify.com/album/3QAus2yQqSIuFgrWaL2aOB

  7. Bump for option to "pay" for this by giving a donation to a charity It's got to go ....

  10.
I'd not heard of that before, it looks quite cool. Dammit, now i want one.. Something to spend the tour bonus on!!
Well it was a throwaway but in your shoes I'd look at the Zoom H4 as it has XLR inputs rather than the mini jack of the H2 (as well as mics of course) I use my H2 a lot for recording rehearsals and the sax player in the Blockheads had one on stage and was recording the audience chanting Norman! Norman! during the bass solo a few weeks ago Oh and I use the screw in thing it comes with (so you can stick it in a mic stand) on my camera for stage shots and filming Cool piece of kit.
  11.
Im just wondering if they cut through like the old ones. Really need to test them but no chance of that.
The guy says they do .. You are posting on that Talkbass thread, I think, so ask him
  12. Don't understand.. It looks like what he said .. a Squier P bass neck on a no name jazz body ...
  13. Hi I have a cunning plan for a Delano powered P-J bass but having spotted the Hybrid Delano bridge pickup I am wondering if it will work in a passive set up with their PC4 AL. It's a combined, switchable J and MM pickup... Obviously the J bit will work Ok as a passive pup but the MM half seems to need an active setup. I've asked Delano directly but they just refered me to their website which doesn't answer the question http://www.delano.de/the_hybrid_pickup_system.html Anyone know? 14.
There is a thread talking about the new Schroeder 1212BMF here. Looks very interesting. Schroeder 1212BMF
Wow Now they sound good .. Tall, light and an improved smoothness in the whole tonal range.. sounds like a winner ..
  15.
It's an options for sure although I'm dreading taking that little bundle through security! I'm confident that even if I did and it was well-packed, BA would still snap the headstock off!
Take a Status then Or send one via DHL in a flight case. Taking one down in bits has to be the best answer. Much more choice here for you to find the right bass.

    I'm off to NZ.
Yeah I downloaded and installed the NZ maps before I left. I thought 70 quid was a bit steep but its not like I had a lot of choice. Those savings criteria come into play if he's not one of their preferred professional groups, such as dentists, doctors, lawyers, IT etc. etc. Insurance in the UK is a bit of a con, but I think you'll find loads of posts on here about that. Owning a mobile phone and accessing the internet are both more expensive in NZ and gas/electricity is about the same cost as the UK now (despite NZ being self sufficient in both). Prices are usually higher because of monopolies.
Sounds like life is finally looking up mate .. How about that job?
  19.
I only ever get jittery if someone else in the band is! Also especially when we have a dep singer! Am so used to waiting to play (functions eh!) that getting nervous would be a potential few hours nightmare every gig, so I usually eat/drink/listen to MP3/go for a walk etc to kill the time. Think it was Charlie Watts (or maybe Bill Wyman?) who said the being in the Stones had been over 40 years of rushing to end up then hanging around for gig time.
Bill Wyman: 25 years of playing in the Stones was 5 years of playing and 20 years of hanging around ..
  20.
Be even more pleasant and contact the songwriter with your plans for their work, not forgetting that someone else wrote it, arranged it, paid and recorded it, got a deal for it, published it, managed it, likely had some rip off along the way, and hopes that other musicians would at least pay the "few pennies" due.
Sure ..
  21.
Hi Mikey, I'm Howard the Bass Doc - built your two custom jobs. I don't have the shop anymore but I'm still active at the home workshop. You can PM me via the forum any time. All the best.
<< "the bass place in Nun Street, Newcastle." Aha! I see the connection ... Did all the nuns get basses from you?
  22. Listening to the James Taylor programme on wireless 2 yesterday he referred to PMT - what he calls Pre-Minstrel Tension. That's the tetchy time before he takes the stage... and his routines and superstitions.. He does a handstand against the wall to clear his head, amongst other things .. I have to put on my stage clothes and stage head ... What do you do?
  23. Speaking of bands playing with two bass players ...
  24. Take your Zoom H2?
  25. Up to £50 plus £20 P+P so I'm out
