That's a great improvement on the old site, obviously, Here's a few points .. As far as I can see it doesn't actually say where you are in the world .... (edit - ah yes it does in the strap line but that's virtually illegible 'cos it's too small and needs a bit of sharpening... ) Add a (edit: legible) location to the header graphic, Contact Us and About Us pages.. Oh! No About Us page? er.... That's as important as a contact us page for a small business like this... So: add an About Us page That's where you show your location, professionalism, your passion for the subject, your picture and why you are doing this. It's where people work out if they trust you to do the job and order stuff from you. These are all essential in these early days.

Your's is a rather different specialism -
Old PJ special, foam mute, fast notes; Raphael Saadiq - Sure Hope You Mean It (Later Live...with Jools Holland) Crazy dancing and white Bullet Curly leads too I think you need smart trousers to use a foam muted P bass properly
Si, interestingly my Fender CIJ Power Jazz Bass Special has *it's* P pup round the wrong way too.. I dunno what difference it makes onally, but it's certainly a lot fatter sounding than my 70's CIJ P. That could just be down to the type of pup tho'.
Oh! Nice Freudian slip there, Dood (I assume - or do you really, really love it?) So .. what is the difference? More "bridge" sound from the E and A or more neck from the D and G? Sandberg do them all that way round which looks very strange on their classic look California sunburst jobbie. Also are those Delano pickups on the Sandburgs? They have that same big single pole thing but the website says they are Sandburg pickups. -

I am strangely drawn to that .. but at a few hundred less I never understand this: "would benefit from a new set of strings." so put a new set on! It's a music shop - so that's, what? £5 to make it much better? Daft
in your opinion.... for some people a car is exactly that - for getting from a to b, for others it's a willy waving exercise, and for some it's an expression of freedom.
Sure same with some basses
Good analogy, and one that applies very well. Also, a better driver can get you from A>B more smoothly etc
Nah That's a pants analogy. A car is so much more than a way of getting one person from A to B and a bass is so much more than making a bass noise.

Ta, Jon's very keen on the Delano pups so that's a good sign.

I've got a new project on the go and the question has come up about the bridge pickup. The neck pup is a p-type but what to stick at the bridge? The obvious answer is a J-type but what would a MM type or double J or second P type give me in terms of sonic options? This will probably be active/passive switchable with a Sadowsky VTC setup. Any guidance? TIA

Hi. I'm afraid the bass has gone back to the repair man's wall. I didn't take any pics as there was no interest on here when I had it. Remiss of me but it was a busy time. Getting a picture of it with the plate off would be a bit tricky now but if you PM me your email address I'll pass it on next time I'm in there and he can send you the info. OK? -
Shucks Si, you're making me blush..............but thanks for the support...........how is the sax by the way?? Yep, Si is right, I forgot about the notch filter that may be on your acoustic however while they are effective, it will not accommodate you moving about on stage very well and will require a reset every time you encounter a different Hz band. If you have onboard electronics, just patch over the sound hole. Cheaper and works a treat.
Sax is fine, ta .. Not had a gig to play yet but it's fine at home Round hole plugs are relatively easy to get http://www.gjsguitars.com/index.jsp?searchStr=AA0616+
Gimme one of these beauties: Jim Deacon / SX FPB62 in vintage white... available for £109 delivered including strap/lead/bag etc, and comparable to genuine Fenders according to Talkbass hype. I want to get one and put flats on it so I can keep my grindy SS rounds on my main P!
Interesting to see that they have "SX" in teh title Been raving about these for years . The Jim Deacon badged ones have Fender shaped headstock like this one whereas teh SX ones need modifying, er I mean have a slightly different headstock shape ... Add a Gotoh 203 bridge and you have a fine instrument for the dosh.

No ide where the ciggy goes - on the floor? Great economy of movement in McVie's style. Is he really Derek Smalls' twin brother?
