1.
I was editing the thread, and didn't see your post Myke. Congratulations! Hopefully you won't receive the dreaded 'actually, out of stock' email, and it's in good shape when it gets to you.
I haven't as of yet. Fingers crossed that I won't get one but if I do then that's how it goes!
2. Still Available at 8.48am! Sold out a minute later! Think I might have got the last one
3. Nice! I was looking into sharpening things recently because for a uni module we had to start a business to do with something musical. So I decided I'd make some cajóns using purely hand tools and I really couldn't get my oil stone to work (I was lucky enough that my Gramps left behind a whole host of good quality planes/saws etc. which I could use) so I did massive amount of research into the different options. I went with some diamond stones because I found that even with the water stones most people use a diamond stone of some sort to flatten them because with a lot of wear it would obviously hollow in the middle and I didn't want to spent too much. Still spent more than I would have liked though. Your set up is looking good
4.
The thing that changed my life was getting the Veritas sharpening jig http://www.axminster...i-honing-system At nearly £60, it seemed a huge investment at the time, but it is orders of magnitude more effective than the cheapo rigs you can buy. The setting jig squares up the blade and sets the exact length for the required bevel and the wide roller means it is completely stable in use. I got fantastic results just with grades of wet n dry stuck with double sided tape to a piece of float glass, but since additionally invested in a couple of waterstones which literally get it sharp enough to cut the hairs on the back of your hand...
What do you use to flatten your water stones?
5. I love it! Doubt I could rock it though..
6. As with many people. Slapping. I can do it but I can never get it to sound good and I can never get it to groove. I practice slap a lot and it never gets better.
7. Rita Ora. Then I could blackmail her and buy a Ritter Cora. If I so wished..
8. That's more like what I was expecting. Just a few
9. Sounds like a reason to upgrade your bandsaw! TAS - Tool Acquisition Syndrome! Looking good so far, you don't have many clamps on the body so you must have been pretty confident with the joint!
10. My first response to seeing this was 'Ooh! Wow, that's pretty!' I'd love if I could afford this but I'm a student so sadly not. GLWTS!
11. Surely it can't be fanned fret if it has no frets! That is just ridiculously crazy!

Defret

I used veneer when I did it and it worked perfectly. It's pretty simple to do as well so you should have no problem!
16. Finger prints.. I don't like basses that show up your finger prints all over the place! Also price

Definitely! Would love this!
18.
I hope not... http://www.cartec-audio.com
I really like the design on this website. It's a shame the reason it's been made it terrible. I hope that this all gets sorted out and I know the powers that be behind Basschat is doing all they can to sort it. Might want to remove the bank details though. Not sure what you can do with them but it's better safe than sorry IMO.
19. I am looking forward to this! Your builds are always satisfying!
20. It seems like it has. I'd be very interested in the Bristol/Bath way one but the other could be okay for me
21.
Are you ever in central London? I need something that I can experiment on without particularly caring whether I screw up or not.
Nope, I live on the opposite coast to you. Sorry. Can post though
