1. Ah my bad. I just speed read the blurb and now I see it's overall length is 34" Are you interested man? I know how you like your short scales. :brow:
2. If it works how I think it does (the simplest method - strings round the bridge then doubles back to the machine heads) it must take really long strings. Otherwise the tuners run long links back to the bridge (rear) and the pegs are there.
3. Courtesy of the BC Fraud Squad? It'll be back sooner or later though.
4.
Even if he linked to another account it'd be tricky to verify that it was 'his' other account. Saying that he is up for collection... glad I'm not in the market for a 60's Jazz as that'd be a tricky one to call but ultimately I think I'd steer clear unless I could go along and try before I buy!
Absolutely but at least it would 1/2 cross off something that at the moment is not exactly going for him. You'd just have to email the other account to see if it was truly associated to him. You'd have to be a right mug to risk your 400 fb's for a mate knocking a scam. And yeah that neck does look a bit dodgy. You could possible say that the machine heads are making it sit at a funny angle and the perspective is bent by the camera, as I initially thought but I just a wee experiment. I put a loaded neck on my carpet and the heel sits flat on the floor as though it it never had any machine heads at all. YMMD.
5. It's attracted a few extra bids since I 1st saw it, but when I did I thought... shy for PayPal, very low fb and no reserve - hmmm. I know nowt about real Fenders so kept schtum. If he could link to his 400 strong fb account it might help.
6.

There's no doubt that the finish is much improved on that one.... still, that crappy bridge bleh.
7. I know what you mean. This really abrupt break in the flow of the horn to neck scoop is being pointed out as a feature. I have no issue with the overall design (barring hardware) but it does seem a bit "first year woodwork" instead of cult underdog luthier. Ye gets what ye pays fer.
8. It's unusual too that they chose to have the grain run diagonally through the body. The first wee knock and those horns are right off like.
9.
The movie "Electric apricot" is one of the funniest i've seen lately.
+1
10.
This would be a great opportunity for a mechanically inclined person who has a real desire to work for themselves." We could all chip in and buy the company together. We need someone who is 'mechanically minded' though. I can bash things with a hammer if that helps...?
Unfortunately I am an organically based unit so am excluded from the offer.
11. "These are without a doubt the best sounding basses on this planet" Amazing what you can achieve with a cheap pup and a sucky looking bridge, "NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING DAMAGE UNDER ANY CONDITIONS" Ooh, a confidence booster.
12. Cheers for all the pointers guys. I've gone for a couple of metres of the Diago stuff.
13.
Skinny necks are not for me but someone on eher should want that....
How skinny can the neck on a fiver be?
14.
Who are Free?
I'm free!
15. Where can I get some?
16. My step dad was a bassist so obviously I didn't want to be like him. The bass was my first stringed instrument (nicked shots of step dads Ric when he went out - 1st tune ever learned Sade's Smooth Operator  then Specials stuff) but I went on to play guitar for over 15 years with the odd stint on bass when bassist disappeared from the line up. A muso mate of mine however had me pegged as a bass player from the start (either that or he just couldn't find a decent bass player) and admittedly I do tend to listen to the rhythm section more than anything, anyway he kept getting me to join bands on bass and eventually it stuck and I'm bloody glad it did.
17. Wow! I bet she has some sweet tones.
18. I do "top of the bill" and support with different bands. I've got no problem with gear sharing (lent a kid my guitar at the w/end there when he snapped a string tuning up just before going on) but if I don't fancy the look of you, ask elsewhere. We always make every effort to check out the supports (even if they never seem to hang around much after their own sets) as a matter of principal but it doesn't always pan out that way. Not being a guy that spends half his life in the pub. if we're at home, I like to soundcheck then feck off home for a bath and a bite to eat first and sometimes only catch the last half hour before we go on. Cock ups with the gear and other arrangements seem to happen at every gig - it's just something you have to expect. I'm not defending the offenders at all but I personally think that the OP's letter is a bit OTT and a sure fire way to excluded from future support slots with the same organiser. IMHO.
19.
anyone seen these? they any good?? supposed to be 'thebest in the country'....
Don't let Davie (16again) hear you say that.
20. Jeez I musta missed that bit in the add. Now ask him about the frets. I dare you.
21. Ha ha no worries I was just 'avin a larf. Is it one of these? I've seen some fairly good reviews on them. Supposed to be one of Behringer's highlights.
