2.
I really am not sure this is bad.... I mean... cheap instruments.... he does a bit of "work" on it... and still selling for cheap... its not like he's making huge profit on ***** guitars... if he manages to do a business out of this... i can only say congrats... maybe its just me... (which it seems to be apparently )
What he is doing is quite simply unethical. It wouldn't be so bad if he actually was improving or fixing them as he claims. He buys in knackered budget instruments, disguises their flaws, claims to set them up when he clearly has no proper understanding of what that entails then adds a crazy margin on top which he justifies by claiming that his instruments equal the top named brands. It is quite clear just from the pictures (even though they have been taken strategically so as to try and not to show the flaws) that many of the instruments he sells are actually worse after he has finished buggering about with them. He has built himself up as some repair guru and is duping inexperienced and budding musicians. To me he is no better that these cold caller pricks that target the elderly with their sales pitch and botched roofing or garden services or whatever. Once or twice is fine (it's ebay after all) but as you say this guy seems to be making a living out of it.... by cheating and lying and selling something not fit for it's purpose. Do you honestly think that's fair enough?
 3. Omg so that's a real bass. I thought someone was having a bit of fun with photoshop. It's amazing how I've been making do with just a simple vol/tone set up on my SCPB single coil gigging bass. Got to build me a varitone in it now.
 4.
A bit like the Esquire
Oh ma heid.
 5. Pickup selector for 1 pup.
 6.
Shameless plug, but if you want to hear some other stuff we do, go and visit www.nancyjohnson.co.uk - there's a playlist player on the front page. P
Pretty good... like being whisked back to my youth. (Ramones ) Though the TL cover was good too - just enough of the original elements to sing along to but you striped it back and made it your own. Did you play the Aria on "The Boy Just Loves (Being a Girl)" too?
 7.
I'll have no disrespect shown for Sherpa vans please
Oops no disrespect meant mate. I've actually known some quite nice pikeys in my time.
 8.
It sits at the guitary end of basses, its much like a tele and shorter scale. That has an appeal.
Aye but I'm wondering to who though? What's it's real world application? Broadly speaking tele's (the guitar) are either associated with country/blues or indie music. Most bass players from those genres play full scale P basses. The design is spot on - in fact if you had free reign and a Fender parts box and were told to construct a (6 string) telecaster inspired bass out of bass bits, 9 times out of 10 this is pretty much what you'd get - with the possible exception of the bridge pup being an angled single coil P. I can't imagine for a minute though that what you get is a bass which (in the grand scheme of things guitary) sounds like a telecaster. I'm guessing it will be reminiscent of an EB-3... but look like a telecaster.
 9. I wonder where they got the idea for the scratchplate? Seriously though, who's the target market for this new rehash bass?
 10.
I tried uploading pics but it kept failing so give up
Host them elsewhere.
 11.
Jamming with Soundgarden!
Holy sh*te Matt you have just made a happy man very old. You've just reminded me that somewhere there is a video of me playing this exact song... nearly 20 years ago. I attached a video camera (digital cameras were purely sci-fi back then) to the headstock and shot down the neck. I'll have to see if I can find it now. I'll never forget that section that repeats over and over being a killer and the feeling of cramp setting in.
 12.
The guy w The guy with his arm in a sling is me! Two operations to correct thumb and middle-finger issues. I look very pretty in blue. That's also me leaping out from between the two flashpods. Heh. P
Haha what a coincidence
 13.
You were using this with the green bass?
14. Sweet. Here's my take on this idea. I notice our pickups are not the same distance appart though.
 15. 16.
Thanks Outshined, for the reassurance. When we discovered the holes, my wife banished the bass to the shed, for fear of infestation!
Is the shed still there? I just had a look on wikipedia for Wishbass to find out where in the States they are made to see if they have a specific type of woodworm there or any other wood-eating pests which might give the appearance of woodworm and may in fact be worse than our woodworm... it doesn't look like it btw. But WOAH has anyone read Wishnevsky's wikipedia entry.... a lot of hate going on there... and I mean a lot.
 17.
I'm becoming an advocate of cheap old basses and this one is quite the beaut....
There are some real nice ones out there. I totally love my old '70s P... which cost me a staggering £80
 18.
.... Most didn't have DiMarzio pickups fitted, contrary to urban myth..... 19.
its been on sale on here for a while. Er why not pm the seller on here and make an offer that way. He's a good guy. I don't really think he's a b@stard for pulling a sale. Esp given the nature of the item.
I thought it might have been that one but I kept forgetting to check.
 20. Not all sniping is done automatically. I snipe all the time but do it the good old fashioned way - I love the supence as the final seconds tick away. I used to use a sniping tool years ago but I discovered that they are a rip... especially the payed versions.
 21. Haha that line about it sounding like a Rickenbacker is more of his classic bullshit to cheat the unwary out of their money. Please no more defending this conman. I wonder when his tin of cure-all beeswax is going to run out. Got a dink in the wood? Rub some beeswax in it. Need to colour match a botched repair? Beeswax. Fretboard needs something arbitrary done to it so you can write about it in an advert and make it seem like you know what you are doing when you clearly don't? Beeswax. Pickups not working? Beeswax. Daughter cuts her leg on some half-inched scrap poking out the back of your Sherpa van... beeswax.
 22. I came here to correct a statement about soft and hardwood infestation but the author must have realised it was balls and deleted it. Fact of the matter is that they can go for most woods but only specific parts of the wood are of interest to them ie they don't like heartwood. I've seen ancient oak beams riddled with worm (my dad has a Tudor country house in Suffolk - incase you are confused as to why a NE Scot should have experience of an oak timberd building ) but they only look at the outer layers. One of the best ways to check if your woodworm is active is to tap the suspect wood and see if sawdust comes out the holes - the fresher looking the sawdust the more likely it is to have been made recently. Don't worry about your house or it's contents disappearing overnight as most modern construction timber is treated and your furniture, other basses etc will be coated with distasteful (to them) materials. Besides, when the adult beetles emerge they must find a partner to mate with... it is unlikely that they will find one in your house so the will either find their way outside or die a virgin inside.
 23. Closed in the last few seconds at £437. Quite a bargain still. I hope it was a Basschatter that got it - another lonely voice in the crowd who will learn that these eat any P bass.
