Check to see if there any unique grain marks etc. in pictures that you have of it concur with those he'd sent you? Once you clear up with certainty that it's a scam (or not) the better you with be able to cope with the proceedings. Don't let him know he's been rumble just converse with ebay and stand your ground about getting sent back to you.

Have you seen any pics yet?

I'd go with the full value just now. If you get it back and get an estimate for the repair then you can decide whether to contact them about it then.

Sounds like the courier is trying to wriggle their way out of it... fairly standard procedure. This is why I take pics of the wrapping process and the finished package whenever I send a bass.

€250! I was feeling all bummed for you coz I thought you paid a real Ric price for it. I'd imagine that your mate knows it's not real too if that's all he asked for it.

I'm looking at pics of Ric scratch plates online and I can't find any where the screw holes almost fall off the side like that... yet. (I'm no expert either)
