1.
I did wonder at that. MIA PUPs, yes. Jap PUPs, possibly. Irish PUPs.....
Duh, Irish pups. Split P pup where one half only has north only magnets and the other has south. The north pup sounds a little harsher than the south.
But is there a sort of person who would buy this bass?
I fear there might be.
 2. On Sunday I got a reminder from ebay to pay for the pup. Fizzing, I contacted ebay to tell them what the score was. After a lengthy conversation where I had to answer the stupidest of questions they suggested just waiting it out for a bit.... oh and the reminder was probably sent in error. Last night a lone invoice (no apology or explanation) popped into my inbox . I must say I didn't think it would go this way. Let's see how long it takes for him to get around to posting it.
 3.
INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS ARE A WASTE OF TIM!
4.
"This item is in stock in our Canterbury shop. Please contact the shop before travelling to avoid disappointment".
I would have thought that the sort of person who would buy this bass would not be the type to be easily disappointed.
 5. I'm 44 it looks like a robot face.
 6. Yep if they are both Squier then chances are they are compatible.... certainly nothing a bit of sandpaper wouldn't be able to sort.
 7. They'd just work like a standard humbucker permanently wired in series. I hope that neck is reinforced somehow. That's a lot of tension for a neck half the standard thickness to carry.
 8. I like flats and I'm a veggie. Can you add an option in the poll for me please?
 9.
What Chris_b said. The notion that the UK Border Force can be easily fooled is absurd, this is their job, they know all the cons. Items leaving the country are routinely photographed & documented to ensure the same item comes back with you, at Coventry an entire team open parcels every day, checking the contents match the declared value. You'll either get lucky or a criminal record.
One of the guys on here was recently bragging that he'd only been asked for 38 quid charges on an expensive bass import from the US. He went a bit quiet when probed, right enough.
 10. If it's getting posted (you haven't said) you will be charged import taxes based on a percentage of the declared value of the bass. The lower the declared value the lower the charges. Bare in mind that insurance will only cover you for it's declared value too.
 11.
Apologies, "shotgun" is slang for me calling it. Perhaps I should have used the words "I'd like to buy it".
Phew I thought it was a stickup.
 12.
This happened recently to my handmade KGB headless which they built for me 20 years ago this year...I took it back to into KGB and they basically heated the neck and bent it back to give the correct amount of relief. And they didn't charge me, which was nice...
The only thing is you now have to keep it hermetically sealed in temperature controlled environment to prevent the wood from going back the way it naturally wants to.
 13.
ok, im going to contact my friend now and see whats going on, can i dibs it for a day or so?
Ant : Sorry bud, I'd rather not block BC members from getting a shot at this while we wait to hear back from your mate. But if it's still here when he gets back to you it's his. Just trying to be fair.
 14.
is this still available? because i know my friend was after one.
Yep available at the moment.
 15.
C'mon...who voted 'other'? There's always one...
Someone who only plays Ashborys.
 16.
Ah... ... have you considered putting a washer under the nut at all?

This is what I did, Al See this thread!
Yeah yeah that's all well and good.... but have you tried putting a washer under the nut?
 17.
Shotgun!
Quoi?
 18.
...I have added a vote for both as requested.
Unfortunately some of the guys who have already voted one or t'other but may have gone with "both" had the option been there to start with can't change their vote, so there's no point adding it now as it will nullify the results. As it stands this poll is fine for knowing just the preference over either flats or rounds..... Rounds by the look of it. A new poll would be the way to go.
 19.
Sorry our posts crossed... There is always that of course... Obviously you have to be sensible with it and not be tempted to use loads of washers though because the truss rod will only take a certain amount of pull on it before it becomes a metal rod flopping about inside a wooden box...
I know mate I wasn't being a cock, I just thought I'd say my bit again for comedy effect.
 20. Mint condish, includes manual, the wee "mode" sticker which everyone loses and a brand new Duracell procell battery. 70 quid delivered (UK) Rich
 21. I'm 21.5cm from wrist to middle finger tip and I'll play the sh*t out of any fecking bass you give me.... love stingray necks (P width 11" radius) the most though.
 22. Ah man. I had one exactly like this stolen back in about '92. If I had the readies I have this in a shot.
 23. They were so close to the real thing that it affected sales... so they had to nip it in the bud. There is quite a difference in tone to those that know the 2 basses well though.
 24.
Yeh I've heard that can work sometimes - can an imbecile do it?
Yeah. Slacken the strings right off then unscrew the nut until it comes off, find an appropriate washer (or more if you need it) slip it over the threaded tip then tighten the nut/bolt up again. It doesn't work for all types of TR but it should work on the majority.
 25.
Once you've hit max then it's pretty much game over. You could try slackening off the truss rod and retightening it whilst giving the neck a bit of a bend just to make sure the truss rod is moving freely. The other alternative is to use a lighter set of strings so it doesn't have so much work to do? A luthier could possibly defret and replane and refret the fingerboard but that's gonna cost a fair bit so I'd be more inclined to buy a replacement neck (assuming that's an option of course).
Or you could try a washer under the adjuster nut.
