  1. ? ? ? This ^^ makes more sense, and is very easy to do, once you've worked on it slowly. It becomes second-nature for any 'four on the floor' riffs. First on one string, then across the strings, eventually string skipping. Try it..?
  2. Good morning, BN, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  3. Ahem ... 13th August ...
  4. Sunshine of your Love - Cream
  5. What..? Not even Cliff Fish (Paper Lace...)..? (We can maybe forgive the oversight of Nico Assumpção, a Brazilian bass player, but it would be a shame, as he's darned good. ...)
  6. Wasn't that rather Valéry Giscard d'Estaing (2nd February...)..?
  7. So, we've not met, eh..?
  8. At the end of our set, I lay out on the floor, wherever I can, to recover, and try to breath a little. There's rarely still anyone calling for more when I'm able to sit up or try to talk; most of the chairs have been upturned on the tables and the house lights are on for sweeping up.
  9. Bass players..? Phil Lynott. Plenty of others too, though, including Jim Reeves, Robert Plant, 'Dimebag' Darrell, Dave Brock and Isaac Hayes.
  10. Good evening, Albert, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.

Good evening, DC, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  12. Ail..! Ail..! Ail..!
  13. Specially commissioned for 'Tears For Fears'..? It's eye-wateringly expensive.
  14. An interesting tack. In my case, at infant school, we heard Saint-Saëns, Prokofiev and Liszt, and at home, Listen With Mother (Think 'Joyce Grenfell' - 'George... Don't do that..!') and 'South Pacific'. No 'pop music' until mid-teens (Yardbirds, Astrid Gilberto, Lonnie Donegan...). T'wasn't till I left education and stumbled across Jefferson Airplane that things 'took off'.

  18. Is there an adapter to convert from mini-jack to normal jack..? These can be delicate for some headsets. Another detail... Are you sure it's a stereo headset, with only TRS (Tip, Ring, Sleeve...) contacts, and not a more modern 'phone-type, with an extra ring for mic or volume control..? These work for 'phones and some laptops, but need a different converter for normal, stereo, jack sockets such as your interface. Just a thought.
  19. Looks and sounds nice, but looking it up, I see 2000€. I'm out.
  20. Perhaps not, if they pay out £1200 if it gets busted or 'lost'. How would one know..? That's the problem, really; many shippers apparently don't pay up.
  21. Good evening, Raphaello, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  22. If it's that good, why don't you go yourself..? ...
  23. What are these 'pedals' of which you speak..?
  24. It's the power valves that are most at risk; the pre-amp valves should be OK, and can stay in their sockets. A higher risk, though, is the weight of the transformers in there, in case of a hard knock, such as dropping the amp. This weight can rip the trannies from the chassis, or twist/bend the chassis. There's not a lot one can do to protect against this except make sure the amps aren't dropped..! For my part, I'd take the amps myself, and make a day of it..! I did this recently with my Hiwatt, taking it for repair implied a 300 km round trip. I have to go back shortly to collect my Fender Bassman 50, waiting for me after overhaul since Christmas. Now that the French curfew is extended to 21h00, I can plan such a trip. I wouldn't want to send my amps by courrier if I could do it any other way, and it's cheaper..! Your move may vary, naturally.
