  2. I emailed Rotosound about buying a single low B string. See the thread "Prompt response from Rotosound HQ" thread.
  3. Low B string available for the Rotosound Monet SM77 flatwound set(£38.99 on Amazon) and .50 for the tapewounds ( £31.99 at Knighton Music Centre) Flats: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rotosound-Monel-Hybrid-Flatwound-Strings/dp/B0002GNY1Y/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2ZDUM7OWS4QL&keywords=Rotosound+Flatwound+Black+Steel+Strings+for+Electric+Bass+Guitar&qid=1678815801&s=musical-instruments&sprefix=rotosound+flatwound+black+steel+strings+for+electric+bass+guitar%2Cmi%2C116&sr=1-5 Tapes: https://www.knightonmusiccentre.com/bass-guitar-strings/products/rotosound-tru-bass-88-long-scale-65-115-electric-bass-strings?filter=148 Thank you for your message. We manufacture a .125 flatwound string that would compliment the SM77 set. The model number is JBL125. The single .050 nylon wrapped string has the model number TBL050. We don’t sell direct but all of our strings are available through all official Rotosound retailers. We only made these individual strings available recently so it can take a while for stores to stock up on the product. May I suggest that you contact either your preferred retailer or an online retailer and request that they order the string in for you? Regards, Jack
  4. Please move to Basschat Famous Quotes thread. What did the Romans ever do for us?
  5. Pickups from our own @Chimikearrived a few days ago, Gotoh gold tuners arrived today - seems that it ridiculously difficult to find a decent set of gold elephant/ lollipop anywhere other than somebody's parts drawer. Cream pick up covers due on Friday, again hard to come by. I'm hoping that swapping the closed pickups into open covers isn't going to be an issue or I may have a set to sell/trade. I ordered a Wilkinson BBT bridge only to be refunded as they don't actually have any in stock. Slowly, slowly, catchy monkey...
  6. I think @tomthebass will be interested to see this. He showed me a photo of a bass with a Ray body with a Yamaha BBG4 neck he has - remarkably like this.

  9. Does anybody use these? Available as a 5 string set? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0002GNY1Y/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1
  10. Love the concept... Going to have a proper listen to this later.
  11. Bit tatty isn't it?? Keep it...
  12. All together now... "OH NO YOU DON'T..."
  13. The price of Yamaha basses are hilarious. How they can sell for as little as they do is beyond belief. £550 for a bass as good as this?? Ridiculous!! Somebody's bound to come along and steal it shortly.
  14. I'm not sure you can use the expression "perfect condition " with a roadworn bass. I do understand what you are saying though. GLWTS.
  15. That's the reason for my aversion to "real" Fenders. Market leaders who stood still (went backwards??) in the 80s and let everyone else catch up/ overtake them.
  16. Age of blows - Spandau Ballet
  17. Ah, I have a real double bed..
  18. I was going to suggest T-Cut but that's covered in @Ralf1e's advice.
  19. Sorry to hear about your health issues - seems all to common as you get older unfortunately. Must say I like the furniture - I have the same bottle green Chesterfield but with different basses on.
  20. I like the vintage yellow/ cream.
  21. Stoned immaculate - The Doors
  22. Land of Confusion - Genesis
  23. I can't find any 5 string sets - are they available?
  24. That's more helpful, thanks. I have a photo of the heel of the neck (I thought I posted that) there's no info on it.
