1. Design one yourself & get Jon Shuker to make for you your perfect bass
2. I've known 3 friends in a relatively small area where their combos shut down on gigs . I had the 250w head & it certainly wasn't 250 w .
3. I have a 36" But then I'm 6ft 4 & it feels in proportion for me , plus the string tension is good for D tuning .
4. The connection on my 13 pin lead isn't great , I have wiggle & push it in a bit more some times , Does anyone else have this problem ,( are their different makes of this lead) I'm getting a bit nervous as I'm gigging it soon .
5. I had one of these great little amp , I use to gig pubs with it no problem , tilt back feature really helped .
6. I'm going to get one of those little monkeys to sit on the head stock & do the tuning for me , I better get it some ear defenders & i suppose I better get Jon Shuker to adjust the balance of the bass .
7. What's the idea behind these ? Tone ? balance? or just looks ?
8. At the moment I have the effect/GR55 going through my PA , but seeing that I have a ABM1000 & a Barefaced 12T would you just put the lot through that & not just the bass tone ?
9. Just a nice simple display on the top of the body or the edge of the head stock as you're looking at the machine heads .
10. JJB Shuker , built for gigging qell worth the money , I wouldn't go for the graphite neck one unless you really need something ultra lite .
11.
Similarly, my Dingwalls sound superb through the BT2 - especially when drop tuning. Now, my Shuker 7... that's cause for terror from the neighbours F# on a .183 gauge string!
I D tune a bit but F# I'd love to hear that
12. If they make basses with built in LEDs why don't they do them with built in tuners ?
13. I use to have a SVT & 8 x10 , I've tried most makes , But if you want something a lot lighter , & IMHO can knock that rig for six I'd go for barefaced & Ashdown ABM 1000 digital head . . The Ashdown neo cabs are great but still quite a but heavier than the Barefaced .
14. A while ago I bought from here a jazz bass with a Status Neck & Wilkes hard where , The Bridge I replaced with one of these & I could hear a definite difference in tone , But the Old Bridge also wasn't earthed properly . My 36" " Shuker has a Schaller 2000 bridge It sounds great but I flipin HATE !! !! adjusting it & just for this reason I Might replace it with one of these .
15. Does anyone mix/customise string guages ? & have you kept to it.
16. Didn't Mark play on a Elton John & Midge Ure Album ?
17.
Good point Kevin, I wonder how much of that is due to the cab or the amp itself. I`d love to hear a full Ampeg valve amp through one of my S12Ts to hear the difference.
I think it's a bit of both , The ABM 1000 going through the Ampeg 8 x 10 to my ears made sounded a lot better than the SVT , Could go lower & made the speaker struggle when pushed , but that was an extreme setting , but I never got this with the Barefaced , I also have 2 x10 Ashdown Neos they are very good & look cool but are twice as heavy as the barefaced & don't have the depth ..
18. The other night I was in a Studio & plonked my Barefaced super 12T & ABM1000 in front of a classic Ampeg 8x10 rig , at the end of the session I A/Bd them & my Rig blew that Ampeg out of the water . I didn't expect it to be so much better especially when pushing the lows . I actually felt quite smug .
19. My First ever amp & I wish I still had it .
20. Perhaps have a listen to the Doods demo video of the Big Twin II , might giver you an idea of what two BB2 would be like ?
21. Thanks for everyone's advise :0
22. I mainly play using a plectrum & I like the Piano like tone produced by my Shuker 36" , Do you think the Big Twin ii would be able to achieve this ?
23. Does anyone know why this doesn't have the option of a tweeter as on my Super 12T I use it all the time ?
24. Volume on the ABM1000 was just above "1" I don't understand all this amp stuff but this amp has so much more depth punch & quality than my Mark Bass amps ever had . regardless of volume .
25. I started a local FB page . But after working with several I found it easier to use a Roland GR55
