1. I,m looking at getting a Pa for my band I want to be able to get a decent Drum sound in an average pub at the moment I,m looking at getting a Peavey XR1212 with Subs & tops 600w per side ,any comments welcome .
2. In the end I went for the 121h. We tried it against my friends rig in his shop ,he has a 121p with 121h extension cab .first we tried it against the 121p using the wedge ,there was no comparison the 121h was so mutch louder .Infact the 121h was just as loud as the 121p with the 121h extension cab.we also tried the 121h combo with the 121h extension & we couldn,t really tell that it made any difference ,you could see that using the extra cab the drivers were not being driven that hard .For me I like to see the drivers moving ,it gives me a feeling that I,m getting my moneys worth . The wedge makes a big difference & for me I have found the right rig at under 40 lbs
3. I was after a good quality working bass & it arrived this week . All for £1400 including hiscox case . Ive had Fenders ,Status,Overwater, Music Man ,Warwick , & this is the best bass I have ever had quality is very very high, Sounds ,well it can do every style I can think of. I was very impressed with the slap sound very unexpected . This is a very robust bass & I can never see my self changing it.
4. Thats a really good reply Thank you.I like the fact the amp controls are on top of the 151 & the carry handles & at 40 lbs A nice easy lift , but I wasn,t sure about a rear bass port ,Strings guitar centre Ryde IOW is my dealer & hes really helpfull .Thanks again
5. I havn,t gigged for years but about to start again in a Pub rock band doing anything from Punk/new wave to heavy funk , on a couple of songs I will be D- tunning & I don,t want to get an extension cab ,I like the look of the Mark Bass cmd151(not Jeff Berlin ), the 121H,& the 210 but cant decide ,as I said I don,t want to end up getting another extension cab & 45 lbs would be max weight. I will be using a Jon Shuker custom P Bass .I won,t be going through the PA. Any thoughts please , Thanks

10.
Hi Kevin, welcome. Be prepared for a barrage of makes and specs when checking out lightweight gear. What is your budget?
Thank you ,I will be looking at £1400---£1500 weight is the main thing for me .My best friend owns a local guitar shop & he is pushing Mark Bass stuff at the moment but I always like to have something different?
11.
I've used a GK MB150e with a GK MBX112 extension cab for all gigs and rehearsals until recently. This includes playing a Warwick Corvette $$ five string and a Steinberger UEB. Fitted the bill in terms of size and weight and has always sounded great but, it was just too "small a sound" for bigger gigs. So, I've taken the plunge and just taken delivery of the following: - MARKBASS F1 (500 watts into 4ohms) - MARKBASS 210P Traveller * 2 (8ohms + 8ohms = 4ohms) Absolutely fabulous, just the sound/presence required to be heard and to hear well on stage when playing in a big band. Also the 2x10s are less than 30lbs each and the F1 comes in under six lbs (and fits in my gig bag too) !! Nice speakon to speakon connections (optional as 1/4" jacks can be used too). The build quality is excellent and I also love the cool yellow cones and decals. Total cost about £1,500 (multiple suppliers). NB: the twin 210s fit together well in a vertical configuration and the F1 fits neatly on the top. This way you can have a back-line which sort of fits the human model rather than having loads of sound blasted around your knees. Issues ? None yet but I'll miss the stereo chorus on the GK a bit - perhaps you really can't have everything !? I'm keeping the MB150e for rehearsals and small gigs and for use with the Steinberger but I've sold the MBX 112 already. Charlie
I,m about to buy a rig for use in a pub rock band i was very keen on the GK rig you had ,do you think this would be OK for Pubs? Or go for the type of rig you now have ?
