A bass is a tool to do the job - it shouldn't be a struggle to play a bass with a neck not suited to you for the sake of tone. Well said.

I can't help with the neck fit sorry, but i had an Encore pbass back in the seventies, a burst with a tort guard and it played like a dream. a lovely bass, i basically swopped it for a velvet jacket (about £30) when i gave up playing. wish i had it now.

£670 Was'nt all that bad a price, i would'nt have touched it simply for the toggle switch mod.

I was having a bit of trouble with a couple of songs then a bass player friend of mine gave me a copy of guitarpro 5 . its been a big help but there's nothing like listening to the song over and over again and working it out for yourself. if you want to pm me an address ill try and copy the programme and send you a disc.
