1.
Is this the one you used to have in your old B/W avatar? If I remember correctly Tombboy used to rave about this, a fair price for anyone wanting to pick up one of these bad boys, they are the balls as good a musicman as has ever been made IMNSHO.
Thanks Mr C. Rated by Big Poppa himself as 'The Best Stingray EVER made by EBMM'!!!! Like I mentioned earlier... it is an absolute beast with tone to die for (I used this on all ALL of our most recent recordings) but because of it's finish and provenance I dare not take it outside into the 'real world'!!! Really reluctant to sell... and if it doesn't, I'll still be the proud owner!
2. Awsome.... one of the reasons the 30th Isn't getting much daylight, great as it sounds though. Really don't want to be pulling the 30th out at the sort of gigs we play. Any dings and there'd be murder!!
3. I'll dig out some specs when I get a moment. Bought new 14 months ago and only used 3 or four times. Loud as buggery. Cosmentically ok, a little rack rash. Pics to follow soon. £220.00 Cheers, Jamie
4. Don't really want to sell this but it's not getting much use these days. Such a killer bass it deserves to be played and played well!! Solid mahogany body with strings thru design. Single H model. Lovely birdseye maple neck, rosewood board all finished in transparent crimson. Comes with a plush black velevet lined oxblood case with very minor marks. Only 783 of these made so if looked after it will only increase in value. I can't find a single mark on this thing and only rated it 9.9/10 as it's not new. Price set at £1,000.00 PM me for more pics/info. Cheers, Jamie.
5. This one was caught but sort of got away..... Got given a beat up old 12 string acoustic while travelling in Israel by another traveller who was going home and didn't want to take it on the plane (back in 1988). It really was knackered and dirty as hell so sat in a corner until I decided to take a trip into Jerusalem and get it cleaned up. The shop owner nearly crapped himself when I walked in with it. Turned out to be a D'Angelico and he offered me £2k on the spot. Being a hard up traveller I nearly snatched his hand off!! Turns out it was worth around £10k!!!! I was happy at the time, mind.... didn't have to work for six months. Just sat around the pool and drank myself stupid at night!!
6.
QUOTE (Mrs Tinman @ Nov 28 2007, 06:13 PM) Rabbits are a girl's best friend Logically, we SHOULD have a taker...
Poor James..... he'll either be under a pillow most of the time, or.... !!!!!!!!!
7.
The hutch is worth £50. His names James but he doesn't really answer to it....
That's where you went wrong..... name the pet, not the hutch!
8. Totally agree. I thinks it's safe to say that this bass has gone!!
9. Wouldn't hold out much hope... It was only after I posted that I realised the bass was stolen in 2000/01. Poor bloke couldn't even be sure on the year it was nicked, bless him, let alone keeping tabs on the serial number. Lesson to be learned here if anything.... keep a database!!
10. Repopsted for Paul from the EBMM forum. know this is a real long shot but it's worth a try... In 2000/1 my lovely Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray was stolen from me from the Stratford-Upon-Avon area of England. If anybody has any info, or indeed if anybody has bought it since then please contact me. description: Ernie BallMusicMan Stingray '93/'94 Bought second-hand from Bass center in Birmingham in 1995/6 Translucent Red / Rosewood Neck Neck had un-finished sanded feel Had a few dings at the time Black Scratchplate De-fret by Woodworm Music in Birmingham (lined fretless) Hipshot D-Tuner Old-Style Bridge with foam mutes Serial Number ????? Thank you for your help, Paul Note to Mods: Maybe we could have a separate thread for such items? Or have we already got one??
11. Pains me to say it (and I know I'll come into some flack for this..........) but whats with wearing your bass up by your chin? I s'pose I'm the 'anti' to the Billy Sheehan school.... 'you gotta practice standing up'!!!! Horses for courses I presume. And, yes..... your singer is a sweaty momma!!!!! BTW......................... nice hat!
12. Sick buckets at the ready ladies & gentlemen........... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MusicMan-Stingray-4-...1QQcmdZViewItem
13. Can I suggest you keep the head (I've got one... awsome bit of kit) and match it with a MB Traveller 102p. Only 14 kg and loads of tone. Stacks on it's end perfectly for the small footprint you are after. I use this for rehearsals (adding the 15" MB cab for gigs) and still overpower our very loud drummer with his Tama kit.
14. I like it! Can hear a little Free, Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, and Cochise all mixed up!! Has a very funky feel and I love the distorted guitars! Really fuzzed up and dirty. Keep throwing out tunes like that and necks will be cricking in bars all over Cardiff soon enough!!
15. We are supporting a great Mod covers band The Coopers this Saturday night (10th November) at a great venue. If you've got nothing on then pop over and introduce yourself. We'll have a drink or two no doubt!!
16. I'll let you know next Sunday! Which reminds me.... The Loop are playing The Adam & Eve, Birmingham next Saturday (10th Nov) 8pm kick off! WHAT A HIJACK!!!!
17.
They are actually Statuses (fourth declension noun)
You have FAR too much time on your hands Steve!!
18. I went through all combinations to find my perfect tone. When I was just 17 I had a Westone Thunder 1A through a Carlsbro Stingray amp and 4x12 cab. Didn't really pay much attention to tone at that age. Gave it up for a while then went through different kinds of amps and basses searching for my 'utopian' tone. You name it.... Traynor, Trace Elliot, SVT2, Bass Pods, Korg effects, Fender, Custom Guitars etc. Eventually settled now on EBMM SR 30th straight into a Markbass rig. Pure heaven!! But, yes.... still GASsing!!
19. PM me. I'll send you some examples of my work and some costings. Just a teaser for an AC/DC tribute band I did a few years back...... All done free hand by the way. But no quibble. Not Happy? Don't pay!! It's the reputation I'm after! Cost prices as well. Just the materials and paint plus a beer or two!
20.
I always thought that Arthur Brown's Fire would always go down a storm at a funeral.
How about Bag It Up - Gerri Halliwel?

Stingray GAS!

My turn..... The union Jack PG has been replaced by black. Just didn't look right. That's me.. with the dodgy facial hair, lurking furtively behing the Markbass rig. Really GASsing for a Dargie Delight SR4 at the moment.
22. Definately Gibson era..... The SMC Range was their concept. I'd say about £300-£400 for worth.
23.
The guy on Paul Simon's "Graceland" (anyone know?)
Bit of (probably) well known trivia for you.... The bass break on 'You Can Call Me Al' is actually some slap and pop played backwards! #No sh*t Sherlock... I here you all cry!#
24.
Not sure where his distortion comes from, but I'm pretty sure he had more than just a volume pedal when he played with the Dwarves at Download Festival last year...
Its not distortion.... it's overdrive from the SVT2.
25. There's one that colour hanging in the Hard Rock Cafe in Hurgada, Egypt that used to swing by the knees of Mr Sixx himself!!
