1. Definitely! Spandex, hairspray and a codpiece! Bassmurf: No, it's passive but apparantly it could be easily converted. Cheers Alex
2. Blow Musicians and Roadsters, get a Blazer! I'm shifting my other basses and I'm gonna grab another Blazer the second one comes up for sale! Truckstop edit: Flateric, if you come across a Blazer that either you want to sell or don't want to buy, could you send a PM my way please? I'll have it!
3. Thank you, Svetlan, I'd wondered where you'd gone, hadnt seen you on here for a while! How's the Roadworn? I was surprised at how nice it was when I had it for like a day! Currently working through a trade deal on Jazz, will keep you all posted. Cheers Alex
4. Yeah it's very cool innit? So 80s it hurts! Bump Alex
5. And right back at ya! Bump! Alex
6. Ha ha, nah it was late at night with my feeble bedside table light the only source of lighting! I suppose I should probably try and get some better quality ones up! Cheers Alex
7. Well done mate! Had more patience than I did when I first attempted a refinish!! Truckstop
8. Yeah, looks more like a BB405 now i've actually looked it up! Trucsktop
9. That is disgusting. I've honestly never seen a guitar that I've actually wanted to destroy in my life until now. IMO etc whatever. Truckstop
10. Truckstop

Why?

Yeah, I just grabbed a Boss ME20b yesterday and after the initial hour of making my bass sound like a siren being played through broken speakers on an infinite delay, I was ready to start programming some patches and it's all pretty intuitive! Truckstop
11. Bump! Already on the 2nd page! Loads of trade options here, try me! Alex
12. Hello Skezza, Yes it is a nice looking bass! Looking on a map to see where Staffordshire is and I'd be happy to drive that and deliver it to you for £20 if you're seriously interested? Have a think and get back to me. Cheers Alex
13. Hello all, I've decided to put this up for sale as I simply don't need or use a 5 string anymore and to be honest I could do with the cash to make important and much needed additions to my rig! I've had this since November 2010 when I got it off Binky_Bass in a trade. Since then it's had fairly heavy bedroom and rehearsal use, but no live use. It was originally Olympic White but it's since been refinished in Vintage White by Rich Lewis of Osprey Guitars (Ou7shined). There's a thread I started detailing the whole process here: http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1489095 Soundwise, it's typical of Fender Jazz bass. Lovely growly goodness from the bridge pickup and lovely chocolatey deepness from the neck pickup. It has the usual VVT control plate layout (speaking of which I changed the knobs from black to chrome to match the bridge and strings and tuners) which has never gone wrong since I've had it and it's all in perfect working order. The only things I can see that are wrong with it are that there's a screw missing from the neck pickup and there's a couple of knocks in the headstock. That's it! It is literally as new! I would like the bass to be picked up by it's new owner from St. Albans (where I live). Alternatively, I'm happy to drive up to 250 miles away for a bit of petrol money and a cup of tea. I dont have anything to pack it in and I dont like waiting around for couriers and neither do you, I bet! Tradewise, there's a few things I'm interested in. I really want another Ibanez Blazer in working condition or any sort of vintage Yamaha or Ibanez basses will be seriously considered. Again, dont really care what sort of condition it's in as long as I can play it! Im also after a 2x12 or a 2x15 cabinet. If the Spector I also have up for sale sells, then I'll have some money to add on to the deal if the value of the cab is more than the value of the Jazz. I'm pretty open to all makes and ohmages here, just try me! Also, stuff like EBS Microbass II, Sansamp BDI etc etc also appeals to me quite a lot as do outboard preamps (Sadowsky, Fodera etc). Top quality accessories like iGig bags or Hiscox cases can also be used as makeweights. Again, try me! Here's some photos via photobucket (almost forgot!). If you want any particular angles or anything, PM me with your email address and I'll send you pictures of whatever it is you want pictures of. Just noticed that my iPhone makes the bass look more yellow than it actually is. It's actually a much more creamy sort of colour!: http://s1168.photobu...488/Truckstop1/ Anyway, thanks for reading all my rubbish and I look forward to your questions and/or offers! Alex Edit: NOW ON EBAY!
14. Hello all, Im putting my Korean made Spector NS2-b up for sale. The keen eyed amongst you may have noticed that this is extraordinarily similar to the the one that Theo (Dosi Y'Anarchy) had up for sale last month, and you'd be right! Im afraid that I've found that it's really not for me. I've found that I like my traditionally styled and ordinary sounding basses and it's just a bit too off the wall for me; which is a shame because I think it looks amazing, but I just feel a bit silly everytime I put it on! So, it's in exactly the same condition as when I bought it for £225 only a few weeks ago, so here's a link to Theo's for sale thread (I hope you don't mind?) as his photos look great and there's loads of interesting and helpful information about the bass in the thread: http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1473304 It's in pretty good condition as you can see from the photos. The neck is wonderful and all the notes ring true everywhere on the fretboard. It has a lovely jazz tone from the solo'd bridge pup and can also do a nice warm P thump from the neck pup. I would describe the neck as having more jazz dimensions than anything else, nice and fast! I would like this to be picked up by its new owner, or, I'm happy to deliver this personally within 250 miles for a bit of petrol money and a cup of tea. I dont have anything to wrap it in and I don't like waiting around for couriers and neither do you! I'm interested in a few trades. I really want another Ibanez Blazer; don't mind what condition it's in as long as it's in good playing order. Other vintage Yamaha and Ibanez trade offers will also be seriously considered. Again, not fussed about condition, but I'd like to be able to play it! I'm also after either a 2x12 or 2x15 cabinet. Depending on whether my Fender Jazz 5 gets sold, I'll be able to put a bit of money towards a cab that costs more than the value of the Spector, but we'll see! Stuff like EBS MicrobassII, Sansamp BDI etc would also be quite cool, anything like that will be seriously considered. Things like top quality gig bags (iGig etc) would be acceptable trade bait (+cash), nice straps, Auralex Gramma pads etc would also be good stuff to offer me. Need to get my rig nice and professional! Thanks for reading so far and I look forward to your questions/offers! Alex
15. Im afraid I cant help, but I wish you the best of luck! Wonderful looking Aria there.... almost as cool as your amazing early 90's dress sense! Truckstop
16. Just performing my civic duty, m'lord! Truckstop
17. Hello all, Just came across this rather lovely looking Yamaha BB605 (I think, the ones that look like the Nathan East sig. model?) but because the seller has only described it as 'bass guitar' I don't think there'll be many people looking at it! I'm thinking of putting a bid in myself, I need another 5er(!) Cheers Alex http://www.ebay.co.u...=item27c28a57f4
18. In the grand scheme of things, £5k for a pro bass is nothing. You go to any woodwind, brass, or strings player that plays music for a living and ask them how much their gear costs. My landlady and landlord are a French Horn player/teacher and a Trombonist with the BBC Symphonic (respectively) and their instruments have a combined value of nearly £20k! Just suck it up! I know I'll never be able to justify spending that sort of money on an instrument and I've dealt with it. Im happy making friends with people that own these incredible instruments and just having a go. I know I'll always prefer my Blazer anyway. Truckstop
19. The MIM Fender Jazz 5's have 5-in-a-line tuners; well, at least mine does. I really like mine, I tend not to use the B much these days though which is probably just as well because it's not particularly good! It sounds good when you need some impact but it's definitely not good enough for Korn-esque riffing. I'm happy to agree that Sadowskys and Laklands etc etc deliver much more than Fender ever could when it comes to 5ers and I think they know that. There's a big enough market for people who want to buy the standard 4-stringers innit. Truckstop
20. Just went to Micks place to buy his Boss ME20b off of him and the whole deal was sweet from start to finish. He gave me a great deal on the item and he even offered to give it to me cheaper as someone had advertised the same thing for less money on the day I was due to come collect it! He was perfectly happy to let me have a go on his Custom (wonderful sound), his Stingray (great neck) and his fretted Veilette (I have GAS again!) and if I'd had more time no doubt he would have been just as courteous with his Jaydees and his Overwater. He even loves Staffies! Great guy, trade with confidence! Alex
21. Gah, wish I could afford it! Also I still love the Ampeg I took off you last year! Anyway, anyone considering this can be certain of Lozz's character. He's a lovely guy and he looks after his gear! Cheers Alex
22. Sorry mate, you need to post a price! Looks lovely by the way, TRB's really are stunning basses! Truckstop
23. Personally, any bass with two pickups and that bell-shaped control plate is a Jazz bass to me. I'll agree that the pure master-race bass is the original '59 Fender Jazz, but the whole style's been emulated so much that to me, if it 'looks' like a Jazz, then it is one! Truckstop
24.
Thankyou Mr Stop , most agreeable. I hope you spend the rest of your life laying on a carpet of even more fify pound notes surrounded by more naked women than usual [s]offering[/s] paying you to drink beer and incredibly flithy sex.
Fixed so it actually sounds impressive next to my current lifestyle. Truckstop
