  1. I use mine with my Morningstar controller which can act as the interface too so no need to unplug/disassemble anything - simply hook up a usb cable to the Morningstar et voilá!
  2. Siren effects on synths are often a self-oscillating filter with an LFO applied to the cutoff. Essentially it’s close to a sine wave so you might be able to do it using the sine wave oscillator with LFO applied to the tuning (but the pitch range probably doesn’t go wide enough). Another case where the FI would work.
  3. You can already control EQ by assigning flexi controllers to up to 4 parameters without NRPN. Mortrix has the full v3 NRPN implementation as a profile so it’s a breeze to use.
  4. That’s a bit out of date, even for v3. Here’s what I’ve got so far (though the pitch tracking mode and hard sync don’t apply to v3). It still needs some work to get it into a nicer format. https://docs.google.com/file/d/1uhtYpWZXa3PiVpCImfpgfe4_I_GbEKhG/edit?usp=docslist_api&filetype=msexcel
  5. No, all versions. The NRPN data were made available a few years ago. At some point I plan on integrating the information into the manual.
  6. Precisely. If you feed it MIDI notes from a keyboard then it’ll pass these on. What most folks are asking for, however, is for the audio input from your bass to be converted to MIDI note data. It’s definitely possible to implement and I am hopeful it will be added in the next firmware update or two.
  7. Welcome to try mine (FI4 and D) when I’m next in Bath (probably in a couple of weeks).
  8. Still in a quandary over this. Sounds wonderful but is more synth than I need (and I need the space (physical and mental) and funds).
  9. Still can’t believe this is still here. Way cheaper than many pedals and an astounding instrument.
  10. Haha, yes, doesn’t hurt to plug my sale. I could really do with the funds and it is a bit of a bargain as I’m including free postage via SD. Also sounds mega.
  11. You’d be able to trigger any MIDI instrument from it via your audio input, all with the FI’s fast and accurate tracking algorithm.
  12. Or get one and use it with something like a Behringer Model D or Moog Minitaur via CV.
  13. Not 100% sure about this as this has a lot of sentimental value for me and I was intending to loan this out to someone as I’m unlikely to use it any more, but I have had some unexpected bills to cover. This is one of the original 100 units of the crowdfunded batch. It was also the unit I did all the v3.00-v3.61 development and testing work on since 2019. Has András’s signature on the base plate. No longer has rubber pads on the bottom. Comes with the original box. There’s a bit of lifting of the decal around the input sockets on the back. Otherwise in excellent condition. Running the latest v3.61 firmware and has a bunch of my custom sounds in there. I could return it to the stock presets if desired. (Might even be able to load it with some of your choosing from all those I’ve shared upon request.) I originally bought this from @Embra and so he can tell you whether he was the original owner or not. Price includes UK postage via Special Delivery.
  14. You can control all the synth parameters via their NRPNs already. I wouldn’t mind an increase in the number of flexi controllers too but I don’t think that will happen. I can ask though. I’m hopeful that MIDI note out will be possible now that some recent optimisation work has been done. I’m pushing for it constantly.
  15. V4 allows much more scope for that. If you set up the base patches intelligently, there’s a fair bit of variation possible. Using Mortrix, you can basically write a patch from scratch without the computer.
  16. How is this T-16 still here? Might be worth adding it to the title and it may shift quicker.
  17. Sometimes this happens early on too: I picked up my Prophet 10 for less than the Prophet 5 (from the same store) only about 4-6 weeks after it launched. It went back up by several hundred thereafter. The new one has been selling very well, they haven’t stopped shipping out units since the launch. What did you get instead? Pedal or keyboard?
  18. Yep. I paid £300 for my used FI I. You will still need to feed it clean lines, there’s no sorcery involved. The algorithm is now faster and better at locking on to pitches. (There are some further improvements coming too. We had a routine running in beta testing that was even better, but the pedal was crashing occasionally. Some optimisation work has been done to significantly reduce processor load now so work on that new algorithm can continue. I’m pretty excited about that as it was just amazingly fast and accurate.)
  19. Stores are at liberty to list at whatever price they like once they’ve bought and paid for units; RRP is just that, recommended. They’ll order in bulk and get a better deal. Big stores can afford smaller margins on some products. And it’s not uncommon at all for the launch price of a product to be 10-20% higher than later on once more units have sold. I don’t think anyone who has already bought one is feeling ripped off. Getting a chunk of money up front means that they can afford to pay me for all my work!🙂
  20. I think they were €229 as a special launch price. Standard is €299.
  21. They still don’t have UK distribution. They sell via musicstore.de so check if they have a VAT arrangement like Thomann. I’m trying to persuade the guys from Signal Sounds to become a UK distributor. I don’t fancy the hassle and outlay of doing it myself. Bass Direct and Joe’s pedals never got back to them.
