I’m really sorry to hear this, that’s an awful thing to happen. I really hope your finger heals fully and swiftly. As much as you’ll be itching to get back to playing, please allow your body time to heal before putting strain on it. Do you have other musical avenues you can pursue while you heal? For instance playing synth bass on keys or percussion/rhythm exercises. A pro jazz pianist I know snapped a tendon in one of the the fingers of his right hand (he did it putting on his sock of all things); he spent the weeks when he wasn’t able to use his right hand writing and playing daily etudes for the left hand. He managed to turn the whole sorry episode to his advantage. I hope you can find a similar way to get something positive out of this horrible experience. Best wishes for your recovery.

Works fine. Bending is handled by detecting the change in string tension at the bridge. Slapping is just another trigger detection at the bridge. There are videos on YouTube (also shared on the IR thread in the “basses” section showing it slapped).

No. It’s a wired fret technology so the pitch is already determined by the string touching the fret and making a connection (or lack thereof for open strings) before the string has even been struck. Consequently the latency is only as much as it takes the piezo saddles to detect string movement above the set threshold, which is consistently 5-8ms anywhere on the instrument.

They have direct competition from ROR guitars with their expressiv MIDIbass.
