What about a set of keyboard bass pedals hooked up to whatever patch you want to play? It’d be easy for you or the violinist to hold down that note for as long as required.

Just got another reply from Olivier at Glou Glou. The new pedal will be smaller, cheaper and 9V. It will be a filter, different from the one in the Rendez Vous, but still capable of producing those amazing synth sounds! Available in spring or summer. I’m very excited and might have my 40th birthday present sorted!

This is getting a bit out of hand. I’ll probably have a Manta by the end of the week too. It seems that Q is a fitting moniker. Or call me Mr. Envelope Filter.

To be honest, I’m more interested in the Subterranea out of the two but will also give the FMeron a try. Probably best to order all at once. I need to hold off buying stuff until the 24th to see if any of the things I’m interested in come up in offers. I wonder if Iron Ether will have a sale… Still want to get the two Moogerfoogers too. I might have to make some decisions on the filters I currently have and list some. The Fwonkbeta is up for sale, but only because I can cop those sounds with my Enigma with a bit of work tweaking knobs. It’s a shame you didn’t have time to stick around and play it on Saturday.

…and yes, Taylor seems like a really nice guy. He wrote a very swift and detailed response to my questions and was happy to discuss things further.

Also, I found out that the Xerograph is digital. (Not that it matters as it sounds great, as do other digital filters such as the Manta and Fwonkbeta.)

I emailed Taylor at Iron Ether to ask about the Subterranea. Apparently he has plans to bring it back next year and it’ll be digital. It’s in beta testing at present and the testers prefer the tracking. @GisserD

There was a bit of discussion about this in the thread I started about synth/VCO pedals. I really want to try one of these and I eagerly await your thoughts on it. where did you order it from?

I really enjoyed the Octabvre mini. I tried Cameron’s next to my MKII. With the Tim Tuning switched on and the tone knob fully left they sound identical. They differ a bit with the tone knob all the way right and I slightly preferred the mini if truth be told as it had a bit more mid presence and snarl whilst still being fat. I still like the sound of the full-sized one with the Tim mode off and the tone fully right, it is very growly.

We totally forgot to try the new EBS Octabass Studio edition which was in the pedal cabinet. Cameron and I only spotted it as we were leaving.
