2. These have been selling on ebay in the UK for around £1400 over the last few months.
3.
hey Quatschmaker.... I can sell you a MIJ '62 RI (made in 91) P pup.... I just had mine replaced witha PJ EMGs, i know i know but I need a workhorse that will do everything and look traditional. pup can be yours for 25 quid posted.
That's very kind of you. I have however ordered a new camera and am broke again.
4. Hey NeonMig, thanks for the links to Renaud Garcia Fons, I'd never heard of him before, but I definitely will be checking out his music! Incidentally, have you heard of Avishai Cohen? He's a bass player (I say this because there is a trumpeter with the same name). If not, check him out. Inspirational.
5. Just to clarify: position 1 is not quite the same as a Stingray. A Stingray's pickups are wired in parallel, double pickup Sterlings have this position wired in series. (However, single H pickup model Sterlings do have this position wired in parallel.) So on the HS model, postion 1 is the same as position 3 on a single H model. Sill a great sound but doesn't quite have the more clicky treble of the parallel wiring.
6. I've been thinking about getting one of these for a while now (presuming it's the one with an alder body and US vintage pickup originally) - I actually had one on hold at Ishibashi for a week before I decided I needed to save the money for a new camera. If this had had the stock pickup then I may well have changed my mind!
7. Oh man, this is so tempting. I've got the cash burning a very big hole in my pocket, but I'm supposed to be saving for a new camera. I guess you're local too - I'm in Sheffield.
8.
If you want a Japanese one with an ash or alder body, you need a not-for-export model (it'll also have US pickups). Currently you can't get these exported new, but fareastguitars occasionally has second-hand ones.
Guitar Emporium has all the Japanese "not-for-export" models available (though at a premium price).
9. Apologies if this has already been posted. Check out the overpricing on this one!
10. How about running your bass through a Sadowsky outboard preamp? That might give you what you're looking for.

14. Free bump for a great amp. I just tried one out today that is for sale local to me and loved it. Sadly it's way too big for what I need it for - I was looking for something I could take on the train if necessary. I don't think my arms would still be able to function at a gig if I had to carry one of these to it! The separate control over the tweeter and woofer gets some amazing sounds. TBH the amp sounds great flat, but there's so much scope to dial in loads of other great sounds. Oh how I wish i had a car of my own, I'd have bought the one I tried in a heartbeat. Good luck with the sale!

16. These are great basses for the money. I played one for a few years which I borrowed from our drummer. I'm pretty sure they're actually 35 inch scale (which is why I didn't buy my own). Free bump.
17. It's a shame they've not included the "Instrument Builder" tool which they had on the old site - that was such a cool feature.
18. Don't know how much interest I'm gonna get on this but I've got a Saxxy alto saxophone stand going spare. It comes in a velour bag and folds up inside it and can be stored in the bell of the saxophone. Really great design but surplus to requirements as I've got another stand. It's in excellent condition as it has hardly been used. Looking for £25 or near offer plus £1.94 postage via Royal Mail 1st class. PM me if interested.
19.
This really hurts to let go but I just cant get used to the wide neck.
I know what you mean - I had the same thing with my Stingray. Bought a Sterling now and it's great. The sound gets pretty close and the neck is so much easier to play. Have you tried one? If not you ought to give one a go. As a comparison you could take your 'Ray along to do an AB. When the Sterling's switch is towards the bridge the humbucker is in parallel (as it is on a 'Ray). Free bump.
20. I sold Anthony a bass yesterday and the transaction went very smoothly. Communication was excellent and he turned up when he said he would. I'd have no hesitation in dealing with him again. Many thanks!
