    Of those two, I’d probably go for the Subsequent, partly as I dislike the idea of messy patch cabling but also because presets are handy for saving creations.

    Take a hard look at the Sequential Pro3 before making your final choice. It has 3 filters, one of which is a Moog-type ladder filter (with the added option of resonance compensation so bass isn’t lost as resonance is increased). The Pro 3 keyboard is much better, sequencer is more powerful, it has more capable and modulation routing and has lovely built-in effects. They’re roughly the same price.

    Exactly. You might as well put hub and C4 on the same channel though. That’s what I do.

    Unless the Boss has USB host capability, you will need the Hub. you’d go ES-5 MIDI out>Hub MIDI in and Hub MIDI out>Adam MIDI in (unless the Adam also has a MIDI out, in which case you could swap the order of hub and Adam).

    The FI is £260 new (though one needs to factor in £20 or so for an interface). I’d still like to try the SY-1 at some point.

    This has no USB host capability (lack of USB port is a dead giveaway) - you will need the Hub.
