  1. Check your bass is set up properly too and you haven’t got really heavy strings on and/or really high action/high neck relief. There will be some discomfort until your fingertips build up some hard skin. I’d really recommend using double bass fingerings in the very first frets (fingers 1, 2 and 4 over a 3-fret space) as it’s a much more comfortable spacing, especially if you have a small hand span.
  2. Any news on this @hiram.k.hackenbacker?
  3. Some pedals track much better than others. Digital octavers track better than analogue in the main, but digital ones usually have a bit of latency compared to analogue. There are certain common dead spots on Fender-style basses, with C-Eb on the G string being the worst offenders; these cause tracking to be fairly iffy. The best-tracking analogue octavers I’ve tried are the MXR Vintage Bass Octave and Bass Octave Deluxe; Red Witch Zeus was also pretty close.
  4. @IanA, though may have sold and just not been marked as such.
  5. I know of another UK stockist who has one at £95, toying whether to buy it.
  6. There is a tiny bit of audio bleed even when the FX knob is at zero; small but worth noting.
  7. I participated in that thread. I like this one because it has a bit of relevance to the bass’s ubiquity and people’s attitude to it. I’m not averse to smut though.
  8. I used Chromes on my Sterling for about ten years - the same set - which I loved. I had GHS Precision flats on the Stingray I sold recently and they were a wonderful match.
  9. GHS Precision flats were like this too, the E string sounds nicely broken-in from the outset, whereas the others take a few weeks before they lose the zing.
  10. “Cut any aśś rimming” is at the politer end.
  11. The ones for “Musicman Stingray” are absolutely amazing, but many of them wouldn’t get through the profanity filter.
  12. Given the widely copied design of the Precision Bass and the arguments about authenticity and vintage tone, I was tickled when I worked out that “Precision Bass” can be anagrammed as “piracies/snobs”.
  13. Just seen that Mr Black do a few mini pedals. There are a few in the current Anderton’s sale. https://www.andertons.co.uk/january-sale-pedals?#facet:&productBeginIndex:0&facetLimit:&orderBy:&pageView:grid&minPrice:&maxPrice:&pageSize:96& https://www.andertons.co.uk/offers/january-sale-pedals/mr-black-mini-flanger-pedal
  14. I sound like a broken record, but the Future Impact should be top of your list. As for how well it tracks a sustained note, here it is tracking a low E for days at the end of this clip. (It’s not the most representative sample of the sounds it is capable of as I was merely using it as an octaver in this patch.) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WQAQQIQ3zhb3S4hxCJlq8BYt1opXWKhp/view?usp=drivesdk
  15. @bigevilman
  16. They’re quite different. Phase 90 is 4-stage whereas the 100 has some weird arrangement where it’s technically 10 stages: 6-stage with modulation and a further 4 non-modulated stages.
  17. So you managed to score one. Great stuff.
  18. Could be simply down to sweep depth, starting frequency and resonance, all of which are adjustable in the Lunar. I’m a big fan of 6-stage phasers.
  19. Maybe helps to know how many stages it has and whether it has a resonance control. The SA phasers can do a lot and cop many other pedals’ tones.
  20. Whichever of the 128 presets you want. You obviously need a MIDI switcher to use the neuro hub properly.
  21. MXR do a new Deep Phase too. Also delay.
