1. I have just started building a pair of omni 10 cabs. for those that don't know what they are have a look here.....http://www.billfitzmaurice.com/Omni10.html I have been assembling all the parts for a few weeks now but finally got round to doing some building today Here is my box of stuff. I'm still missing some tweeters and carpet though. I started by chopping up some strips based on common dimensions. I could then slice off the individual panels fairly easily Some of the first panels. The nice thing about having a dad who is a photographer (apart from being able to borrow nice cameras) is that he has lots of tools, clamps and workmates! Just a few of them... I Forgot that when you are cutting wood, there is sawdust! My poor tea So after waving a circular saw around for a few hours I have most of the parts to create two omni 10.5 cabs After my tea (or dinner as most people round here insist on calling it) I started making the braces. I needed to have them a bit lower than center so that the handles I have chosen will fit. The PU adhesive is really nice to work with, but I really do hate latex gloves! There is something very disconcerting about them So that left me with one side of the horn assembled More tomorrow hopefully! Nick
2.
Do we get to know? Please
pssst, post 27
3. Asking a question about leads here is probably only going to get you one answer..... OBBM Those leads on ebay are possibly being sold by OBBM ( a member here) anyway. Guitar leads/bass leads, they are the same thing. The cables that are different are instrument leads and speaker leads. But if you wan't quality leads then there are loads of members here (including me) that will give OBBM a thumbs up. Nick
4.
Anybody played the Wheatsheaf in Stoke or T.J.s in Newport the stages are about 6ft high and made of cardboard. Sounds like playing inside a duvet but out front the sound great!
Played tj's some time last year. I couldn't really hear much of what I was playing, but I could feel it. Spent some of the gig with one foot on the odd rail thing leaning out over the front of the stage which helped a little, but not much.
5. Blimey. It looks like they have used just about everyone at some point! I had a new 15" from them 2 years ago and it was a sica. came in a celestion box though
6. i've oversimplified this a bit, but basically the power is split between all the speakers (so two 100w speakers can handle 200w). It is possible to damage your speakers in the combo but it would be distorting horribly and you would be silly to have it turned up that high anyway. The amp doesn't put out 200 watts to the speakers all the time. So, if it's distorting, turn down. Otherwise, you don't need to worry.
7. The current speakers are made by sica.
8. If you go to the site news forum, there is a sub forum called site issues. I think that would be the most appropriate
9. Max, that dha vt1 rack sounds interesting. Is it a mk3 or a purist? and if you don't mind me asking, how much extra was it to have a rack version?
10. In my rack I have a little mark 250 and a behringer autocom. The rack is a 3u warwick rockbag and it's great. I have carted it backwards and forwards from cardiff to worcester on the train loads of times with my bass too. I don't seem to be using the compressor much at the moment due to me not playing in a noisy band anymore! It's just me and an acoustic with both of us singing.
11. Looks a bit like what I imagine a behringer copy of the me50b would look like hehe
12. ah cheers redroque. That farnell code is just the ticket. (i think the farnell website is so hard to find anything on!) I think wle have a minimum spend of £10 so will probably go with farnell. I certainly will be posting a build diary. Not sure when I will be starting but it should be in the next month or two once everything has been sourced and ordered. I'm also building some decking for my parents so will probably get to know the local timber merchants fairly well.
13. cpc is pretty much the same thing as farnell, and maplin only sell them at a fiver each unfortunately.
14. Hi Guys, I know there are quite a few people here who build Bill Fitzmaurice cabs so I hope someone has an answer! I have just bought the plans to build two omni 10.5 cabs. I have sourced and priced pretty much everything except the piezos. The ones from West London Electrics are supposedly a bit naff (and I would have to buy 10 when I only need 4) and Farnell seem to have stopped stocking the recommended "I can't Believe It's Not a Motorola 1016" tweeter. I can find some places that have similar looking ones, but first they are a lot more expensive (4 or 5 quid a pop) and secondly I'm not 100% on the size required. So does anyone have any recommendations? Or does anyone have any spare that they would let go? Thanks Ned
15. oo, the nice thing about those amplicon ones is the kettle plug on the transformer, the price isn't too bad either.
16.
Hey I am meeting up with Dave sometime this week to record some sound clips of his pedals. Hope this helps
Brilliant have been looking for some for a while.

I would think there is some sort of caching of the pages. Rather than build each thread from scratch from the database it probably saves a static version in html periodically to reduce the load on the server. That's just a guess mind you!
18. I would say xlr out is the best way unless you have a pretty decent mic already. Sounds like mismatched impedance issue though if it sounds muddy. What mixer, what cable (and what input on the mixer is the cable going to) and what amp?
19. Wow! comes out to about 30 euros for a completely custom 1U panel with colour and everything!
20. was it WinISD? http://www.linearteam.dk/default.aspx?pageid=winisd
21. We still need some pics of the finish..!
22. yours is fine ped, but it could all go horribly wrong! As far as i'm aware, IPB can only reject avatars based on size, not whether they are going to induce epileptic fits!
23. oh no..... animations
24. What happens if you unplug the power from the ipod?
