  1. Hey Shep You still got that Rim Marseer?
  2. When i bought my portamento 4, I went to a guitar shop with a largish bass section, and they allowed me to try every fretless bass in the place, including some that had a 4 at the beginning of the price tag followed by three other digits before the decimal point. I ended up with the Ibanez. When it came to buying a 5 string fretless a few years later (that years set list demanded a five string), I did the same thing again, tried loads of others before eventually plumping for the Portamento again. I think they are hugely underrated, and Ibanez only made two mistakes with them. The first was not offering any different colour options, and the second was discontinuing them.
  3. Now that is really nice
  4. I ended up with another one instead, weird how things go sometimes
  5. Lovely, lovely bit of kit
  6. NOW SOLD For sale here is a brand new unused Peavey PA CH-D portable battery or mains powered PA system. This item has never been used, and only taken out of the box to be photographed. Retailing at £78 on GAK website, here is the gumph - Battery powered PA.This unit represents the ultimate in a compact, complete and portable powered P.A. System. With its ability to use both AC power or batteries, the Solo can be used for both indoor and outdoor PA requirements. Its size and weight make it easy to carry and use. There are many places where you need amplification, and it's just not practical to load or unload a lot of equipment. With the Solo, you have a ready-made P.A. system that you can carry like an attache' case and still get great sound no matter where you are. 8 inch heavy-duty speaker Two channels Mic channel features low Z input 2-band EQ Tape out jack Id prefer if this was collected from somewhere near Axminster
  7. Just picked one of the sixers up off Ebay out of curiosity more than anything, mine has a darkwood fingerboard tho? i.e. not maple, im rubbish at identifying slices of dead tree
  8. I've got a CV jazz - its an excellent bass. Mines 2011 tho so getting on a bit now
  9. Bought a Line 6 multifx from Kyle, easy and pleasant transaction, all good
  10. Hi, whereabouts are you based? **edit** ah, just spotted Edinburgh area
  11. Lol I was wondering at that myself
  12. What is that @Sibob?
  13. Very classy looking build. Im sure Yew would be used more if it weren't for the dangerous stuff you highlighted in this thread
  14. Hows that done then? Just glued onto the copper shielding? Having read quite a few of your threads, I doubt it'd be that simple
  15. That intonation system looks interesting how does one adjust it? Ha! get me! adjusting intonation! The very thought...… lol
  16. I got the Normandlanding one, now trying to work out the pleople one.
  17. Ah yes, one of two working titles for a Pink Floyd album. I believe they chose the other one......
  18. He must be running out of stuff to randomly stick onto his basses - this is the first time I've seen one with matching control knobs
  19. Incredible work and result. Top darts all round
  20. I've often wondered if this process was possible (seriously considered taking a forstner bit to the wood underneath a very weighty P basses scratchplate) so this thread is fascinating to me
  21. Yeah I've often wondered that, he seems to have an allergy to matching parts up. Rarely have two knobs the same on any given guitar, nor pick ups. I'm surprised he doesn't do the same with the strings
  22. ...I cant seem to find the right size. I have a Fender Deluxe Precision Special which I use for my day to day frivolities and general musical gallivanting. I'm looking to change the hardware over to black for no more reason than I'm a bit of a tart tbh I've ordered 3 lots of replacement knobs from a well known auction site, but they're all to small to go over the pot shafts. The bass has 3 regular pots and one stacked, also a tiny little two way toggle switch. The shafts in question appear to be 5.5 - 6mm diameter across, anyone know where one might be able to source a more errrmmm….. girthy knob? Or four?
