  1. Cheers! Looks great... But at £860 inc shipping but plus import fees/VAT etc there's no way that bass is worth that....! I don't think he'd appreciate an offer of half that value
  2. @Doctor J those Wingers just needed an EMG PJ / circuit upgrade. Great, lightweight, comfortable basses.... I'm guessing you still have the Ibanez SR900 then? Always fancied one of those or the higher grade ones with EMGs etc but you don't see them around much over here. Let me know if you ever decide to move it on...
  3. @Doctor J - Love the King Billy, Jackson Winger, Peavey Sarzo, Ibanez SB900 & Hamer Chaparral! I know you still have the Hamer, but do you have any of the others anymore?
  4. Lol! The list of basses I used to own is as long as the list of basses I still own...... i.e. loads!
  5. Might be worth adding " - Mark Smethurst / 'Mark S Property’ " to the title of this thread so it is clearer to anyone browsing the General Discussion forum titles.... and adding those names as tags.
  6. I love the Interstellar finish on the Ethos. I'll be getting one and then upgrading it with EMG/Haz and crown inlay decals.... All these new models hit the UK in the summer.
  7. I enjoyed the feel and extensive tonal choices on tap on the one I tried...... it was really nice! Sadly the design is too out there for me. No way I could ever feel truly comfortable playing 'that' shape *flush*'.... 'sorry'. YMMV...
  8. Score! I'd forgotten all about that..... I remember being interested in that at the time but other GAS took over... Enjoy!
  9. Exactly. Not sure if anyone read this blog that I also posted on P2 of this thread...? http://www.timbrennan.co.uk/blog/visa-free-work-permits-for-the-eu27/uk-technical-crew-to-lose-out-in-work-permit-chaos/
  10. Short sighted comment. Tours etc are often organised at least 9-12 months in advance. There might be no tours in the next 9 months but that doesn't mean people aren't working towards things in 2022 and later....
  11. The only break he'll get is the tax break for him and his paymasters. Oooh yes.... what a cracker of a deal he got! *facepalm*
  12. More piffle, poffle, wiffle, waffle and blustering twaddle from Doris then.... accepting no responsibility or ownership of his poor decision making and negotiating....
  13. Bought an octave pedal from Brian. Quick smooth transaction and fast delivery. Thanks mate!

  16. Love Todd Sucherman!! I've followed his career for many years now and he is easily my favourite currently active drummer. His parts are like 'songs' in themselves, always so well constructed, complimentary to the song as a whole and always interesting/exciting! He's also a helluva nice guy! I've met him a few times and he's always a pleasure to talk to.
  17. Another great piece on him: http://philipwilding.co.uk/uncategorized/love-remains-though-everything-is-lost/
  18. Ambrosia - Magical Mystery Tour:
  19. The mighty Aerosmith: and, of course, Chicago (here in 1979 with Peter Cetera playing an early Spector NS1 bass):
  20. I voted for PJ..... but it's all about the reverse P with that!
  21. Now I REALLY wish I'd picked up one of the bass heads when Guitar Guitar did that Mesa clearance a year or so ago....
  22. Just the head.....
  23. Ah OK. In that case I may look out for a used VT 500 and or a VT Bass DI going cheap/reasonable price and give it a go. Don't really need 2 channels but loved the sound of the 1969 I heard.... so if I can get that in the VT 500 I'm laughing....
  24. Not anymore since Brex*hit...
  25. Oi!! I resemble that remark!
