lol. We actually fit MCPS currently, rather than PRS, which is a pain because MCPS is £50 and PRS is a tenner and looks easier to administer... I know you don't actually have to sign with MCPS if you're record company is a member, but they're american so I doubt whether they are! Oh well £50 it is then - you have to spend money to make money, mind you we could join both I suppose - that might be better. Then again BMI is free!!
MCPS and PRS deal with different royalty types. MCPS look after your 'mechanical' royalties (i.e. monies from sales of 'product' - cds, dvds etc) whereas PRS look after your 'performing right' royalties (i.e. monies from live performance, airplay on radio, tv etc). You need to belong to both. BMI may be free but they are based in North America, look after their home talent first and take ages to pass on any royalties from outside the US. If you are UK based and have most gigs and airplay in the UK and Europe with some further afield, you should join PRS/MCPS. PRS has the lowest admin deduction rate of any royalty organisation AND more 'reciprocal agreements' with other societies than any royalty organisation. This means you will receive more money, more often, from more territories... I can't see any benefit to joining BMI....
My Spectors are simply too good at everything for anything else to compete, so I may aswell sell them all except for the Spectors!
Word! P.S. Please PM me how much you're looking for for your 75RI Jazz (also, what colour is it etc?)
That is very sweet. I shall look forward to putting it out of tune very soon. P
I'm sure that can be arranged...
No. I think you really want to swap 'er for a Natural Oil one. And a crate of Stella - proper silver top continental stuff too, none of that gold top UK sh*te. EDIT: Er yes, you're right, a veritable beauty. Bastard.
....AND a crate of Stella!?!? You really know how to tempt a bloke don't you?!? lol!

Great guy, very friendly and just overly cool as Well recommended, glad she went to the King of Spector
Thanks Sam! It was a pleasure to meet you.... and to relieve you of such a gorgeous bass!
Not just for KISS fans, a great rock show all round!
Cheers mate! That seems quite a common comment at our gigs.... lots of 'KISS fans' bring their 'non-fan' friends to our shows & they seem to love seeing the 'full production' in a club environment...
The line closures did affect your attendance at least a little... four of my mates called off because of it. I had to shoot off during the encores to make my connection or I would have said hi after the gig. Very impressed with the fire breathing btw.
Cheers Musky! Hope to say "Hi!" next time The fire breathing? Awwww it's just a little trick I learned along the way

Another great weekend! The Agincourt is now firmly set in our 'circuit'.... and the Victoria Line closures did nowt to affect our attendance at The Standard! Back o' the net! Great to see MacDaddy at The Standard.... thanks for coming mate!
Abba reign supreme. Listen to some of the basslines in those songs. The melodies of the vocals and some of the counter melodies in the surrounding orchestration is just... well, perfection. For me, Rutger Gunnarsson is one of the best pop bass players of all time... yet one of the most forgotten.
Huge +1 Rutger (along with Dee Murray of the original Elton John band) is one of my all-time faves. He nailed the 'perfect bassline for the song' EVERY time!

Ooh! That's nice Kinda like an old Ovation bass.... Any price guide on this?

We WILL do the proper version of it.... and a lot heavier!
Thanks everyone for your help. I have bought the bass now for £280 - but wanted to check to see whether I was getting a good deal. The info you have given, plus reviews I've read online of the NS2000/4 have eased any concerns I had. I think I've got myself quite a good deal there. Cheers, H.
You certainly have! Congrats.... and enjoy!
Hehe, you may be right there. I caught one of your shows in Cardiff at The Point (RIP ) in December or thereabouts, and was thoroughly impressed so jumped on the opportunity when we were asked to support this one. I remember seeing one of your techs almost get his face blown off by some of your pyro, hehe.
Ah, he was just showing off and pretending to be in danger!
I'm actually the guitarist in the band but our bassist will be borrowing the bass I've bought. It's a Spector you'll be pleased to know.
Good man! That's what we like to hear See you there!
looks like an NS2000/4. manufactured in Korea. No longer produced. RRP would be about £700 brand new
Correct. Quite a heavy bass but with a very tight focused tone. Great value for money s/h and can be picked up for under £300 if you're lucky.
I'm in one of the support bands on Friday. I just signed up here to buy a bass I've been after in the for sale section, and the seller tells me you post here. It should be a really good turnout at The Ag, if facebook RSPVs are anything to go by anyway. Really nice venue too - with the most powerful smoke machine I've ever witnessed!
Cool! Will be great to meet you! REALLY looking forward to this show.... but I think the smoke machine will be made redundant by our pyro! lol!
