1. One thing about Barefaced cabs - you really don't get a proper impression of the sound until you hear them at gigging volume. I've had my Compact nearly a year and have used it at loads of rehearsals. Thought it was a good cab for the size and price, but did think there was a lot of unwarranted hype behind the Barefaced stuff. Last week I finally got to use it a gig. (A lot of my gigs are kit share and/or backine provided). WOW. A bit more volume made a lot more sound (if that makes sense).
2.
Get an Android tablet, any one will do. Then you'll spend so much time trying to get it to work, you won't notice you don't have the Thunderbird.
Acoustic's

You don;t say what your definition of a decent price is, but at the budget end of the market I've never come across a bad yamaha f310. Come to that, I've never come across any Yamaha accoustic that wasn't great for its price. I've also had a couple of Washburns that were nice in the £200-300 range
4. So glad it's not just me that ends up buying something completely different.
Vintage Sunburst.. The black looks a bit plasticy. Or hang on for the new pro-classics.. http://www.epiphone....sic-IV-PRO.aspx I'd get the Alpine White one. Or you could save up and buy the real-deal... I'm considering letting mine go to fund a new project. Sorry don't know much about Android tech
Thanks for the vote on the sunburst. I can't stand the Fender sunburst (and I've mostly been a Fender type until recently), but the Epi/Gibson burst seems a bit darker/less technicolour. Plus I can get my hands on the VSB sooner (nowhere seems the have the black in stock unless paying top price). Might have to break my own prejudice and buy a Sunburst for the first time in 23 1/2 years. Did think about hanging on and going for the Classic Pro, but it's got the three point bridge that I'm not a fan of.
5. A Lot of Mccartney's. Just where did he get his ideas?
6. A few years back, I had a little spare cash and decided I'd get one of those popular-at-the-time SX Precision basses. But I couldn't decide whether I liked the white or black more. So I bought a satnav Now, having sold a few pedals, about 100 CDs and a few books I've got enough cash for my latest object of desire - the Epiphone Thunderbird Pro IV. But I'm struggling to choose between transparent black or vintage sunburst. So, in short, which Android Tablet should I buy instead? Does this happen to anyone else? NB This time I will end up with the bass (and it'll probably be the school woodwork project finish )
7. Opening slot for UNFest at the Forum in Tunbridge Wells this Sunday - only found out this afternoon
8. I bought an amp from them last year (Hartke LH-500). It developed a fault after a few weeks - crackly volume pot. Phoned DV247 and told them what was up and what I'd like to do to fix it (contact cleaner spray for vol pot). They agreed I could do this without affecting warranty. Didn't fix it. Back it went to DV247. Pot replaced by Korg and returned to me via DV247. Top chaps to deal with and the fact they let me open up the amp to do the obvious squirt without upsetting the warranty was great.
9. Same here, Safari's in built threat detector picked it up.
10. Any NBD is a good day, but I've got a very soft spot for nice 'wicks. A Thumb NT was the nicest bass I've ever played, and the grain on your new one looks gorgeous. Nice work Clarky
11. Clarky has just bought my old boss compressor. No messing - straight away a message saying he'd have it, a postal address and asking how I'd like to receive payment. All sorted promptly. Great communication throughout. Top guy to deal with.
12. Jose has just bought a modded pedal from me. Great communication and no hiccups throughout the whole process.
13. Hi guys, I'm putting my Boss compressor up for sale. It has been modded with the Monte Allums opto mod kit. This kit drastically reduces the noise from this pedal as well as improving the action. It also now has a lovely bright white LED. At low settings it improves the "focus" of the sound and it higher settings you can get those lovely squishy sounds. I bought the pedal in used condition before modding it, and it does have a few scuffs on it (pic to follow when I'm home from work). It comes in the original Boss box How does £45.00 posted first class, Recorded Delivery sound? Nic
14. Hi guys, I've had this pedal since last year, it's great fun and moving the trimpots to the outside makes the pedal a lot more versatile than the standard internal trimpot version. The pedal is in pretty good condition for age. A few small marks around the stomp switch and the "Made in USA Electro Harmonix" has faded off a bit. £45 posted
15.
Ahh I see! I thought it was just because I was outside the range of the speakers so most of the air just kind of... Blew past me?
This is it exactly. With all the drivers in a vertical line, you can move further to the left or right before most of the air is blowing straight past you.
16.
Do they not a weigh a sh*t load?
A point I was about to clarify. I had a P bass with a polished SS pickguard. Weighed a lot. (looked cool as f*ck though and easy to keep shiny )
17. The price list is, I believe, just a guide. On the Warwick forum the advice os usually to go and speak to a Warwick Custom Shop dealer who can get you a definitive price on what you want.
18.
Can't see pics?

Pics will go up if there's any interest.
If you're genuinely interested in the guitar I'll put some up

It has been well looked after and apart from one cosmetic blemish (see below) is in excellent condition. Cosmetic blemish: I bought this from GAK. They'd managed to knock the headstock unpacking it and there is a thumbnail sized chip out of the top of the back of the headstock. Trades wise, I'm interested in Precisions (mex fender, squier CV or VM), Musicman SUB, Yamaha BB or similar bass or Ashdown ABM head with cash adjustment either way. Cash price: £250.00 ono I don't have a hard case (just a thin gig-bag) for it, so won't post. Pics will go up if there's any interest. Cheers, Nic (edit for more trades)
