1.
OHM if you love your fenders like me, you'll get the warwick play it for a little bit and then sell it. its just too modern for me. in looks that is.
That's my gut feeling. I just wondered if there ws anyone who'd tell me anything different!!
2. A bit of advice would be much appreciated here. As a dyed in the wool Fender/Musicman fan, I know very little about Warwicks at all. As some of you may have seen, I currently have a Fender US Precision for trade/sale and was offered a Warwick Streamer LX as part of a deal. I declined this offer basically because I know nothing about Warwicks and have probably only played 1 in my life. I'd be grateful if any of you Warwick experts could let me know any more about the Streamer LX, where does it fit in to the Warwick production line (IE in Fender terms is it made in America or is it made in Korea), any idea of value of these basses and also what I'm missing out on. Thanks
3.
Hi, I have a 5 string stingray which I am looking to trade. Are you interested? email me at [email protected] Cheers Ron
Sounds interesting Ron. I've dropped you an email. Cheers Nick
4. Still available. I'm having serious second thoughts aboutt moving this on. I'll see how I feel at the end of the weekend.
5.
Obviously, no-one wants my SR30th!! http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=11692&hl=
Awww, that's not true mate. Your Ray is one of the nicest I've ever seen and if there was any way whatsoever I could afford it, I'd certainly have PM'd you.
6.
Can't believe you haven't sold this yet Nick - It's the architypal Fender - everyone has to own one at some point. Have a bump.
Thanks for the Bump Mart. I figure it's the wrong time of year to sell basses!! All PM's answered too- thanks for the offers guys. There are some lovely swaps to consider, but nothing that really grabs me yet. Thanks for all the interest.
7. Old Git's 5 String Shuker P Bass. So much so, that I've been "heavily influenced" by it when putting together my own Shuker 5 string P spec. Oh, and OBBM's Root Beer Stingray. Lovely
8. Yep. Brand new Stingray 4 string. Took it to rehearsal plugged in my wireless unit and off I went. 30 mins later, put the bass down on it's stand (safety first you see) walked away and it took a nose dive off the stand straight on to the floor. I forgot to take the radio pack out of my back pocket and it was still plugged in to the bass. Result? Lovely little ding right at the top of the headstock.
9. Back to the top- thanks for the interest so far
10. New Surrey members always welcome here. You'll find yourself in good company. Judging from your second to last photo, isn't it past your bed time young man?
11.
Victoria I think I'd have to prise it from Danny's dead, cold hands first....
I'm sure Danny would still put up a good fight even if he was dead!! Quality quality player- him and John were born to play together.
12. If you look carefully at Marco's photo on his website, you will notice a pair of horns growing out of his head that he is trying to conceal. This man is the Devil and once he has you in his power, he constantly teases and tempts you with the most amazing collection of basses for sale. I bought a 1976 Fender Precision from him a while ago. It arrived within 2 days and is the best bass by far I have ever owned. You have been warned....
13. That Stingray is amazing Marco. If I could afford it I'd take it off you right away!!
14. Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Leave me alone and stop tempting me with things of such beauty!!!
15. Either Entwistle's Frankenstein or Bernard Edwards' Stingray- don't mind which; either would make me very happy...
16. Hundreds of years ago, I went to a House of Love gig in Amersham and ended up snogging a girl in the audience. As a result me and my mates missed the last train home, but this girl said her Dad would run us all the way back to St Albans. Sure enough, a Range Rover pulls up and she goes and has a word through the window. She came back and said "it's all okay, just promise me you won't get freaked out by my Dad". With a fair amount of trepidation we get in to the back and settle down. Her Dad turns around and it's John Craven and he's even wearing one of his trademark jumpers!! I saw him a while back on This Is Your Life and Jeeez with his Daughter and it brought all the memories back
17.
You don't mess around do you Nick, must say this is very tempting good job i need the cash for the deposit on the shuker, by the way cheers for the feedback steve
Maybe you're right Steve. I'm pretty sure this bass will grow on me and the Thumper sounds much better than the QP I have in my other P Bass, but to be honest I'd rather something a bit different from a P Bass as the one I have (plus the Shuker 5 Stringer on order) more than satisfy my Precision obsession!!

He reckons it's the first update on his model in nearly 14 years. I love the colour of it- chrome red is such a nice finish.
19.
Hi I have just posted this link on ebay ( selling my mint USA strat to fund a Jazz or Precision ) I know it is well of the mark from a quality accoustic but does it tempt you at all ?? Probably not but thought is would be worth a try so have a look and let me know what you think Regards Tony http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fender-Stratocaster-...1QQcmdZViewItem
Hi Tony Thanks for the offer, but I've got a US Strat, so I'm not really in the market for another one I'm afraid. I'm sure you'll have no trouble whatsoever selling it though- it's a beauty!
20.
Nick.........you need treatment!
Possibly- it's just not doing it for me Mart
21. I recently got hold of a 2006 US Fender Precision with the classic black/black/maple colour scheme. It's absolutely spotless apart from a paint chip right at the top edge of the neck pocket. First thing I did was get it set up professionally (my Tech confirmed the damage on the neck pocket is no more than a paint chip, although the previous owner had tried to colour it in), had the S1 wiring rewired and replaced with a normal Fender pot and also had a Wizard Thumper fitted. All in all, the work cost me £118. The bass comes with the Fender hard case and all the candy too. I've played it once at rehearsal and then gigged it last weekend and it sounds amazing (anyone who had tried the Thumper pickup will testify to this fact). The trouble is, I can't really see it replacing my 75 Precision or my Musicman, so I'm going to move it on. It's absolutely spotless and will come with all the S1 wiring and original pickup should anyone want to refit it. The maple grain on the fingerboard is gorgeous too and there are no dings, buckle rash (other than the mark by the neck pocket which is invisible to everyone but the player). I am looking to trade for (with a cash adjustment either way if necessary): - a quality 6 string acoustic (high end Takamine, maybe a Taylor, Guild or similar) - Marshall AVT100/150 - Fender US Jazz bass (possibly) - Stingray 5 - Stingray Fretless This has been valued at over £600 and comes with a higher spec than the current US model (and S1 US model). Of course, I'd be happy to sell too. Asking price is £600 inc delivery. I'm in no rush and this really is a Feeler. Thanks for looking
22. Played last Saturday at a work's Do at the Madejski Stadium hotel. Good crowd and very appreciative. We ended up playing 3 sets. I took my new black US Precision which I had rewired from the S1 System back to normal and also with a Wizard Thumper installed. It sounded amazing but felt very different from my old workhorse Precision (which unfortunately I didn't take along). I didn't even take my Stingray either (first gig in 2 years i've not taken it). It was a shame because I spent the whole gig subconsciously wishing I was playing my other bass. Maybe I'm just a one P Bass man after all.
