  1. Probably just me then. I know I was going through an incredible amount of AA’s and just put it down to using active basses. Whatever the numbers are regarding latency, I know I can’t hear it and I’m the only one listening for it.
  2. I never knew that was a thing. Every day is a school day as they say 🤷‍♂️
  3. Absolutely agree. I wouldn't go back to cable unless I had to, even for small gigs. Latency with the Shure is a non-issue as far I'm concerned. To be fair, the Line 6 was also spot on in that regard, but it ate batteries like they were going out of fashion. That rattled my confidence with it somewhat as I mainly used it with active basses which seemed to exacerbate the issue.
  4. I think there's an argument for questioning the need for wireless at all if the gigs are all pub based. The only reason I bought one was because the 80's show requires movement on sometimes quite large stages. That said, I do also use it for pub/club gigs because it's already on my board. I'm not sure the GLXD even qualifies as tour grade. You can spend an awful lot more on more powerful units. Yes, it's expensive, but in my opinion, it's worth it. I've probably saved its value in AA batteries had I still been using the Line 6 🤣
  5. By that rationale, I assume you’re one and only gigging bass is a Harley Benton?
  6. It was your opinion that convinced me to try the Shure unit and I heartily second every word of the above. The other thing I like about these is they’re built like tanks - transmitter and receiver alike. A real solid piece of kit. The batteries last for an incredible amount of time on a single charge and I’ve had no drop outs either. I tried a little experiment in an open air amphitheatre during sound check last year and managed to get about halfway to the top of the seated area before there was any signal dropout.
  7. Different for you mate. I like that. Interested to see where this project goes.
  8. Very much so. 'Searching' is a far better choice. There There My Dear was easily as good as Geno and both were better than Come On Eileen - IMHO. Frampton's is a bit of an odd choice as it's a live album comprised of songs from other albums 🤷‍♂️
  9. Just flicking through the list of albums I currently have in my music library, I been struck by how few that I’d regard as classic would be able to be performed by their respective artists as they’re either inactive or dead. Quite depressing really. Sadly I don’t have Sky, so won’t be able to watch the Simple Minds episode which is a shame, as I really like them. Likewise ABC. I remember seeing Heaven 17 perform Penthouse & Pavement in its entirety. That was excellent. I wouldn’t mind seeing the Stereophonics episode, but the rest leave me a bit cold. Desperately trying to think of an album/artist that would fit in here. Maybe Joe Jackson performing ‘I’m The Man’? Pretenders performing the first album? Supergrass performing ‘I Should Coco’? I’m sure I’ll think of more after I’ve hit Submit Reply.
  10. Why Does It Hurt When I Pee? 🤣
  11. I thought it was Bill Haley and HIS Comets, rather than THE Comets?
  12. That’s very quick indeed. We so rarely hear about the excellent courier service received. I used DHL to get a bass to Belgium fairly recently and it went door to door in less than 24 hrs.
  13. @Paul S - I think you have some experience with buying from Japan as I seem to recall? Apologies if I’ve remembered incorrectly.
  14. I think if I maxed out the EQ on my Euro X my speakers wouldn't last too long. Did you turn your trim pot down?
  15. Another owner here, same colour too. Mine is permanently tuned a half step down and it sounds fabulous. I can't really justify having another identical bass, but GLWTS anyway 🤘.
  16. Purchased a bass from Mark @Max Normal. Great bass for a good price. Recommended seller. Thanks again.
  17. There was a time a little while back when the TC clip-on’s were impossible to get, which was rather annoyingly when I was looking to buy one as they are highly rated. I ended up buying a Peterson Strobe Tuner which has been faultless.
  18. I think I would have carried it around the corner and sat on it in the shade whilst I waited for a taxi. Good find tho 👏
  19. Yeah, it's a nice bass that one. Sorry to hear you're not able to play it at the moment.
  20. Another +1 for all the above. I had two angled jacks cables made doe the transmitter before I even used the one that came with it. Made by OBBM I believe, before he stopped doing them.
  21. Get one. You won't be disappointed. I've found the clips on the transmitters to be very solid indeed, although I don't clip them to a strap, I clip mine to my belt or back pocket. Never had it come off yet.
  22. I think they were in Victoria Road as I recall. The studio we used (The Whopping Conker) wasn’t far from that on the other side of the road.
  23. I've heard her sound an awful lot worse than that IoW clip.
  24. I was one of a few on Basschat that pre-ordered this limited edition model after @cetera (a Spector endorsee) instigated it's production in early 2022. The original options for finish were black gloss, white gloss and tobacco burst. Gary kindly looked into getting some made in my preferred finish of Ultra Violet and Spector agreed. Here is the Basschat thread regarding the Euro X. I believe there are also some photos in the Spector thread. There are only a few of these in existence in this finish (and I mean low single figures) and they sold out immediately. I ordered it so that I could have a something for a hair/metal type band that never came to fruition, so it has not been used. I now have some other projects on the go which means this is unlikely to see the light of day. This bass has not been rehearsed or gigged. It is as new as the day I received it. It comes with a Spector branded gig bag and it's adjustment tools in a white envelope (still sealed). I also have the Spector box it was delivered to me in. The finish on the bass is stunning and really awkward to capture due to it's mirror like properties. I've done my best. Specification: Body: Maple - Refined X shape Top: Genuine Figured Maple Neck: Maple Nut: 1.64” Fingerboard: Rosewood Headstock: Black Inlays: MOP Spector Crown Frets: 24 Scale Length: 34” Radius: 16” Hardware Colour: Gold Bridge: Spector Locking Die-Cast Active Tone Controls: Spector TonePump (which is adjustable via a trim pot) Controls: Bridge Volume, Volume, Treble Boost, Bass Boost Pickups: EMG P.J Easy access battery compartment Weight: 9lb Collection would be preferred or meet at a mutually agreed halfway point if possible. I don't want to send it via any of the horror story couriers.
