1. Interesting that even the mesa engineer suggested there was no real difference with a starved plate design.
2. If my Jazz 5 goes soon ( a couple of interested bites recently) I'll be coming over to give it a play if that's ok? You're only about half an hour away..
3.
If weight was not an issue then I'd agree with you! Gator cases are not as solid as flightcases, but unless you tour regularly or are incredibly heavy-handed with your kit, you really don't need a flightcase.
The lighter duty (7mm board/aluminium) ones are not too bad.. The 2U one for my Thunderfunk only weighs a couple of kilos..
4.
Thanks for that EBS Freak - didn't realise you could actually make things worse for yourself! Would that be the same if I put the amp in a large rack - say 12u tall with a racked mixing desk on top - something like this, which is an alternative option as we have a Yamaha MG166c to accommodate as well (pain the in the butt size for a mixing desk as it's 12u and there aren't many options for 12u desks... it's mostly 10u stuff...): http://www.flightcas...stors-4870-6631 Would I end up having to blank off the rest of the rack?
I've got a purpose built 4U case with a MG16/6FX mounted on top.. Any use?
5. It's front to back ventilated so 2u will be fine.. I prefer proper flight cases - swan fightcases will make you a nice one for under £100.. Alternatively secondhand ones come up regularly.. The p2500s comes with rack ears so all you need is bolts and cage nuts..
6.
That would be my guess, but the description gives the impression that owner is quite busy if he/she is recording live albums, so you would think they might know what they're doing. Or maybe not. Looks a bit battered for £1700.
Yup.. Mint they tend to go for £1800-£1900 and there is £200-£300 worth of refinishing there...
7. Hi, I'm looking at a teal 55-94 on ebay (looks a little expensive at the moment though).. However the way the intonation is set worries me - am I being foolish? See picture attached..
8. Huge hint for BF wheeled cabs is to install a strip of this http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/1m-plastic-extrusion-standard-l39aa between the wheels.. Saves/hides the damage you see on this cab (and as fitted to mine)..
9. Dimarizio strap locks for me - although you have to use their straps..
10. I love the way they're stacked like a 9 piece at a pub gig :-)
11. the J-retro will give you that in spades... I have one on my Jazz 5..
12. I just see the experience there as buying from a knowledgeable but somewhat opinionated acquaintance. I would rather have that that some ill informed but retail programmed smiling idiot at PMT.. ..
13.
As a long time Lakland player I think everyone should try one of these before they decide on a new bass. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/297268-lakland-44-02-cherry-sunburst-bartolini/page__fromsearch__1
I'm really enjoying my near immaculate lakland Bob glaub (Indonesian) p5 bass . Running my Z3 a close second so for £600 it was a bargain..
14.
You don't want to sell this...to give to me is what you want .
:-)

I think it's just that it's black.. A bass head with the features you need for complete tonal control, ample power and rugged design. Found on stages all over the world, the HA Series HA3500C 350 Watt Hybrid Bass Amp Head is back in classic black. Yet, it retains all the same rock-solid performance and features as the original that have made it one of the most popular bass amplifiers of all time. The 3500C's unique circuitry ensures that every nuance of your bass performance is faithfully reproduced. Featuring two Pre-Amp input knobs, allowing custom blending of tube and solid-state tone, and ten-band graphic EQ, the 3500C is ideal for the player who wants plenty of power and control. A dedicated preset button allows you to set an equalization curve and two fully adjustable contour knobs provide even more shaping of your distinctive sound. A built-in compressor adds real "punch" to your bass sound, and also allows you to smooth out volume differences between notes.
16. I think the OP is wishing that his bandmates simply learnt the song structures correctly and were able to repeat them .. It's not too much to ask..
