1. I'll take this if you'll a) ship it and can wait for a week cos I'm going on holiday tomorrow morning.
2.
What poweramp is that?
Its a BK Electronics module which I've just read in another thread is not being made any more.
3.
Is there a 2 ohm class D out? I thought that they run too hot at that load... or perhaps am I completely wrong?? Why would you want two independent inputs? This is interesting stuff...
I have a Class D power amp which is certainly safe to 2 ohms and possibly even further.
4. Promise? I don't remember no promise!
5. Just passed my driving test bump
6. I'm quite tempted to buy this and do this to it.
7. Bump for pics. Also, I dusted it. Open to offers for cash or part ex; trades-wise I'm after some kind of looper, maybe another Boss VF1 or a Pod X3 live going unloved? Maybe also interested in fretlesses with 5 or more strings. Cheers! Kyle
8. Indeed, passive with tone and volume for each pickup. Decent basses, I have the 5 string version which I got for a ton on eBay. Needs a refret I think as I can't get the action low enough for my taste, but a better B string than most basses in that range I have tried.
9. Good bits- I'm quick enough to keep up with a stupidly fast drummer. I know enough theory to work out what's going on and explain it to the band members who don't get it. I'm good at "locking" with a drummer, or whatever else is providing the pulse. I've played The Rite Of Spring- after that, everything else seems pretty straightforward. Bad bits- My reading has lapsed badly recently, as has my upright playing. I can't do jazz properly, and chord charts freak me out. I probably like tapping far too much for most people's taste. I get loads of tension on my shoulders and arms sometimes (not exclusively bass related but that's when I notice it most).
10. You rock- Cynic are the dog's bollocks. Was that a one off show or are you doing more gigs with them? I'm looking forward to seeing them support Opeth next month if I can get a ticket.
11.
heres some of what you missed!.... peace c
I think you must have been standing right in front of me- and I'm pretty sure I spotted 7string in his signed denim number too. Good night all round, and he does seem like a lovely chap.
12. I've done 0, with a DI, and I think 15- 'twas a tiny Behringer combo the venue kept for that purpose. Worked fine on the tiny stage.
13. Looks neat, what's the scale length? Could you make it more like a double bass and less like a mutant fretless?
14. How is this powered? 9v battery? Also, I assume the headphone out is a standard mini jack? Cheers.
15. If I had to buy a 4 string bass it would probably be an Attitude.
16. bump-o-rama.
17. A flamethrower for the headstock. Some kind of OTT inlay- like the Vietnamese ones on Ebay but without looking like it was drawn by a twelve year old. If you could work the LEDs into it that would be cool, IMHO anyway
18. Hi all, I'm looking to sell my Boss PW10 V-Wah. It's been sitting unused pretty much since I got it (from Ant back on Bassworld IIRC) except for a few Cliff Burton moments. Turns out I'm not really a fuzz/wah kinda guy If you are, this should fulfill most of your wah needs, as well as distortions and some cool vowel sound effects. It does have a bass specific wah model, as well as the ability to customise the wah sound- get the full specs here. Will try and get some pics up soon but its in prefect condition (albeit slightly dusty ) These are going for a ton on eBay, so how does [s]£60[/s] £50 shipped and signed for sound? Comes with the original (quite beaten) box and a printout of the manual. Can throw in a generic 9v power supply for an extra fiver. Or I might trade/PX for an Akai Headrush or something similar. Or if you have any other cool trades, try me, the worst I can say is no. Cheers all Kyle
19. Can't say I like those two that much but I love the fact they're named Sauron and Battlestar!
20. "Status" clearly also includes that you must live in England/Wales I beg your pardon, England only at this point.
21. I like a nice clean punchy tone, and I heartily recommend the use of 3 fingers (a la Mr Sheehan) to achieve speed. Harmonically it's pretty straightforward, following the guitar most of the time and filling in around them when they go off on a twin lead odyssey. I also get to do the odd tapping break, and I quite enjoy doubling lead guitar lines (sweeps etc). You can check it out at the link in my sig.
22. That gives me a "board error"?
23. I've reserved my tickets
24. Burning Earth- www.myspace.com/onceburningearth Metal! Glasgow Headline or support Most of our songs are pretty long, we could probably do 90 minutes if we had to. The bar would do great business if we did.
25. And, I've just noticed (no, I've not been staring at that ad for eight minutes!), "another quality attribute is the encased and in oil stored mechanic". I've no idea what that means but it sounds filthy.
