  1. Past hour
  2. Yes I saw that Elwood, but I've just tried out a medium scale 5 string and my hands are too small . It's pity cos that one is near me.
  3. At least it wasn't the Park Avenue split with only half the lines from Don't Go Breaking My Heart 🤣 - sadly I can't find the video. I am still mates will all former bandmates, indeed the drummer comes back and sits in with the band (that has been going yonkers) on occasion.. We even get together with the original guitarist from years ago and have a session banging out the old tunes. Still tight with all of them and able to catch changes/mistakes on the fly with a quick look or nod Back in the day said guitarist and original vocalist could clash at times, eventually guitar went, we kept going with a couple of other guitarists, then vocals guitars left and we carried on for a bit with another guitar & vocals, but eventually drums had had enough and went & I followed. Roll on some years and drums vocals & I got together for a showcase with the guitarist from the band the drummer had ended up with and that continued for many years 'til the vocalist emigrated and we enrolled the vocals from the band drummer & guitarist had been in during the interim before the showcase gig. Drums has moved on but we still all get together for parties, Christmas, and sadly most recently funerals Pretty much all splits were amicable though I have memories of difficult moments with the original lot as guitar & vox clashed heads. Did a gig around Easter time. Guitarist thought it would be a good idea to give the audience eggs and got some bags of the candy coated eggs for the vocalist to hand out. Vocalist just hurled handfuls towards the bemused crowd. Guitarist had a hissy and walked off. Thankfully I think it was pretty much the end of the night. Girlfriends throwing their 6p in and screams of "Kev's the worst one" ... a phrase that still gets bandied about on occasion 40 years later 😄
  4. A fantastic compressor with plenty of tonal variety using 3 styles of compression with their own respective ratios. The SSL Bus compressor, FET 1176 and Darkglass's own Super Symmetry. There is also a lot of great tweaking that can be done via computer with the timings of attack, release and even a HPF. In fantastic condition, including box, manuals, rubber feet etc. Specifications: Hybrid Analog/Digital Compression Pure Analog signal path Blend control 3 built in yet distinct modes of advanced modelled compression Connect to your PC/Mac via Micro-USB (B) Free ‘Darkglass Suite’ software (provides additional fine control and compression models) 10-LED gain reduction meter Touch-Through metal sensors Internal doubling of supply voltage to 18V (allows for extra headroom) I/O: 6.5mm / ¼” Jack Input impedance: 1M Ohm Output impedance: 1k Ohm (9V DC, centre -, 2.1mm, ~250mA current draw)
  5. If you know of Origin Effects, then you know of their top notch build quality (built like tanks) with the best components and a true passion for getting 'that sound' The Super Vintage is based off the 1969 Ampeg SVT with a built in 8x10 Cab sim and it achieves that sound tremendously. Having nothing but compliments on my bass tone (a rare thing let me tell you). This pedal has been as plug and play as you can get, with little to no fiddling or some very intuitive messing around, I got warm old soul, clanking metal, fat Dub sounds and manily, a very usable and versatile sound. Only reason for selling is I am downsizing and this pedal is a bit overkill for what I need now. Can be delivered anywhere in the UK for £10. Any questions then please feel free to ask! Analogue amp recreation. Complete valve amp-style signal path with dedicated class-A preamp and push-pull output stage. Based on the legendary Ampeg® SVT®. Balanced DI output with analogue cabinet simulator based on the Ampeg® SVT 8x10" cabinet. Reactive overdrive design simulates interaction between amp and speaker for realistic feel and authentic sound. Full range of vintage bass amp tones from clean to overdriven. Powerful tone-shaping Amp Out EQ. Blend control lets you mix your drive sound in parallel with your clean signal. Tour-grade, all-metal construction. High-impedance buffered bypass with silent switching. Designed and assembled by hand in England. Weight: 846 g (1.14 lb) Dimensions: 146 mm (L) x 92 mm (W) x 64 mm (H) Current Draw: 150 mA Power: 9V DC, 2.1mm Centre Negative

  6. Wow, that is an absolutely stunning beauty of a bass ❤️
  7. His Signature Pack is included along with K101 Compositions GIG READY BASS patches that are also great.
  8. Thanks for your insight. I’m probably a veteran, been playing bass in bands for 40+ years. I play with fingers only and still use a backline amp on stage. The reason for my question is that I’ve just become the owner of a Guild B301 strng with roto nickels, it has what I call a woody tone and I’ve not had that vibe from a bass in years, I love it. So I wondered if I could encourage that sound from some of my other instruments. I guess the answer is no seeing as this bass just seems to do it naturally and my others don’t.
  9. Traded my Sadowsky with Paul for his Roscoe. Met up halfway at a services on the A14 this morning. Bass exactly as described and Paul is a top fella. Deal with confidence! Many thanks Paul Cheers! Keir
  10. Looks like really a good bass.Just checked a couple of YT videos and found some sound examples. What's the difference between yours and a 380? I have family in Colchester, so maybe a possiblility there.
  11. This is mine, cheers for sharing. I’ve just got normal strings on there now and they’re absolutely fine.
  12. One unbranded pedalboard and soft-case https://ebay.us/m/r14k4r
  13. Absolutely no connection with the seller but there is this in the BC listings: I have a Maruszczyk Elwood 4a 32”” and I can safely say it is the best playing bass I have ever owned. This price looks like a bargain. I have several medium scales now. One problem is the limited range of strings available for genuine medium scales but some people say they do fine using full scale strings. I happen to like D’Addario nickel rounds and chrome flats, so I am catered for at reasonable prices for medium scale strings but if you prefer other brands, their medium scale strings can be hard to find and seem to command a price premium over standard scale. BTW: Gretsch now do a medium scale for around £500. There is also the Hartwood Satellite for £199 (Gear4Music), if you like slightly off the wall designs. I also picked up an 80s Greco P/J for just over £200. Various similar Yamahas, Arias, etc come up occasionally for much less than your £1K max. Happy hunting! P.S. Warwick do a few medium scale variants including the Star Bass that comes in under £1K.
  14. If the magnets can be taken away, they can be replaced or magnetized. If the pickups are packed into resin, then it is easier to use a specific magnetizer or change the pickups.
  15. Hi @hundredsoflegs, I didn't do the work to remove this myself but there is no recess for the bridge on my Aerodyne, it's a later model.
  16. Hey thanks Paddy, I have been looking at that one 😆
  17. Not yet Mike, sorry but I haven’t received anything. Please check you have the correct email (and please use the personal messaging feature for payment related info instead of commenting on the thread. The thread can be see on any internet search). I’ll keep an eye on it cheers
  18. Thanks for all the replies guys. I did order an Ibanez Mezzo SRMD205 from Gear 4 Music to try out the 32in scale. Really nice bass and the scale is perfect. Just my hands are too small for the 5 string. I do have an old Yamahe BB404F which I found was making my wrist hurt. So I bought a couple of short scale basses 2 years ago: a U5 Fretless and a Warwick Rock bass. After trying out the Ibanez, it seems like the perfect scale. I've seen the mediums that are for sale on here, look nice, but are too far away from me. I will revisit and see if anything is worth the trip to go and see.

  20. It really is a great pedal
  21. No cover, though there was a cover that it lived in but I've taken that now for my hartke. I can't remember exactly but it came direct from EBS in Sweden in 2019 I think about autumn time. So coming up to 6 years, been well looked after.
  22. Clearing out a lot of stuff that is just sitting in boxes under my desk. For sale is my EBS Microbass in Bass preamp and DI. Bought it on here a few years ago and used it for a number of tours for FOH and practice at home until it started to momentarily cut out on channel A intermittently but never for long, but long enough to not want to use it for live. Amazing sounding preamp and speaker sim and incredibly versatile. Probably could be used as a practice solution for somebody or perhaps somebody with tech knowledge or an interest in repairing things could fix it. £75 delivered.

  23. For sale is my Rockboard Quad 4.1 pedlaboard fitted with the Rockboard Mod 1 patchy bay. Used this as my pedalboard for the last 5 years and it has been great, very light but sturdy and very easy to build a good pedalboard with. It's covered in velcro that can of course be removed. Also included is a Pedaltrain gig bag that came with the Pedaltrain that I recently bought. There is a small hole in the case which I've pictured and doesn't include the shoulder strap but other than that it's never been used. This could probably be stitched or glued back together... not that I'm an arts and crafts expert though! It just happens to fit the rockboard Quad 1 perfectly so thought I would list it as one whole thing.
