  2. Hi, Selling my Zoom B6 Bass Multi-Effect. Barely used. Never left home. Still has the protective film on the display. Comes with original box and power supply. £250 Posted in the UK. Open for reasonable offers. PS. Re-advertising this (hence pictures from last month). I previously withdrew the sale due to a change of heart.
  3. Some more photos of this lovely little U-bass, which I can't believe hasn't sold!

  6. Aha - that may explain why the thing sounds so damned good! Was it you that sold it to The Moo?

  8. Welcome Ryan
  9. Bought from Juan Alderete’s big Reverb Store sale. Shipped it to the UK, paid the duties, had the Thru jack fixed/sleeve/nut added, had the power switched to 240v. Sounds great, adds a subtle richness to the tone. Would pair beautifully with my Camden EC1 for the ultimate clean studio tone. I’m having a big clearout, won’t be heart broken if no one shows any interest.

  12. Hello everyone, My name is Ryan and I joined basschat! I've been playing bass since November 2024. After I bought a electric guitar and noticed my fingers kept touching multiple strings I remembered that I loved to play the bass in highschool so I bought a bass guitar and amp. This was the right choice because I absolutely love playing it! (If I have time because I am currently studying automotive engineering) I mainly play blues and rock. I play a Squier Precision Bass with DR-legend flatwound strings. I hope you know me a little bit better now. :-) If you have any questions, let me know.
  13. IKMultimedia Mixbox (The complete version) free with every purchase on Plugin Boutique. Mixbox is specially great for those who have digital consoles and mixers, you can use the presets for DI bass, DI guitars, Mic'ed drums and vocals.
  14. I play soul, blues and jazz so an aggressive tone is the opposite what I'm looking for but this bass works perfect for me. It gaves me a classic sound but a little bit separated. In terms of shape I think that the VM has the most beautiful modern P shape I ever met. The neck is a dream to play. You don't need anything else.
  15. I don't have a digital caliper to measure it with such exact precision. But I imagine those specifications can be found on the Fodera website.
  16. I have the same…..it sounds realy like an Alembic…..
  17. the player P is pretty nice for sure. I love the classic 50s MIM from around 2016. The main difference is qc and the pickups are typically not the best. Also a lot of the Mexican bodies have extra drill holes and mistakes under the pick guard and I have seen neck pockets with curious drill holes in them. Nothing that really affects anything and pickups are easy to swap. I was told by a fender rep that the Mexican plant is getting better and better at qc but is still behind the corona team. I may get a second p again just to have one with flats and it may be a player version or I’ll go hunt down a classic 50s again.
  18. Okay chums, further price drop: now £60 including p & p in the UK. These are a good set of Fender pickups with some nice midrange poke to them. Grab yourself a bargain! 😜
  19. Hello everyone, A year ago I bought a Trace Elliot Series 6 715 combo amp. Since a few months it's making a rattling noise when playing, it doesn't matter if it's warmed up or what level the stage output is set. I replaced the capacitors of the power amp because I saw that one cap was expanding. After that was done I installed the head back into the cab and glued a rubber piece to the bottom of the head because I thought the rattle could come from the bottom of the amp hitting the wood inside the combo. After reinstalling the amp and testing it, I found out that the sound is still there. I did find out that the rattle is gone when the combo is angled to the front or the rear. I tested the speaker by carefully pressing it in and I noticed no scraping sound so my guess is that the speaker is fine. I don't know where the rattle can come from so I'm hoping that one of you could know what's up with my amp. Thanks!
  20. After a long play- absolutely not. Better quality and tone than any MIM have owned. It’s the same quality as the American pro ii and I prefer the tone and neck personally. It’s an interesting bass and I think the vintage part would be the new pickup they rolled out for it which kicks complete ass (to me). The pro ii has some extra bells and whistles but nothing that really made me like it more. I like the neck of both. They feel the same in terms of quality but obviously are different shapes. Also the tall frets on the am pro ii are not really my thing. The pro classic neck is a deeper C than a jazz but much faster to play than the American pro ii. I think fender made an awesome bass that may slide under the radar due to the timing and marketing of it. So it may be attainable for $1200 or so down the road and will be a total steal. It actually feels a bit underpriced. You don’t get a hard case but I don’t need that so I’ll gladly take the cost savings there. Over the past few weeks I played every fender precision they currently sell and this model was the easy winner for me. Nothing cheap on it, and the tone is killing. I thought no bone nut would be cheap but I even like the one it comes with. Very surprising. I thought they’d be all looks and not great but I was very wrong.
  21. Now you've told everyone someone will copy the abhorrent crime.
  22. May his next turd be a hedgehog. Onwards and upwards 👍
  23. That's a shame. I was disappointed to read the very generic Reason for Rejection section.
  24. I recently picked up an immaculate 2024 pearl white SR300e (for €150!) as I’ve long been curious to try an Ibanez bass and this seemed as good (and as cheap) a place to start as any. I’ve got it fitted with a GK3B pickup and the combination of this with the onboard pickups is sounding mighty fine. To me, anyway - I guess I haven’t conducted a poll… Anyway, to the point of this post. The one thing I’m not 100% sold on with the bass is the fretboard - it’s more red than I think I’d like it to be. Plus it’s an opportunity to tinker with an otherwise fine instrument, and who could turn that down? I’ve previously had reasonable success using Montypresso wax to darken/brownen the fretboards on an Epiphone Casino (yes, I know…) and the Squier Precision I deblinged recently (see build diaries). However, both those have neck binding and glossy neck finishes, meaning it didn’t matter how sloppy I was with the wax (and it can be sloppy stuff), I was only going to stain the wood of the fretboard. The SR300 is slightly different - see pic. Two potential problems: 1. As there’s no binding I need to make sure the side of the fretboard is stained as well as the top. Otherwise it will look silly. 2. But as the finish on the back of the neck is satin/matt I’m not sure whether or not the wax will also stain this. Which would also look silly. So, I’m wondering if I need to mask off the rest of the neck for this job. Sadly this introduces a level of tedium which probably outweighs my aversion to the redness. I know, no dedication to the craft… Anyway, what thinks the collective?
