  1. Past hour
  2. Just picked this up, thanks I havent really pushed it to be honest but will give that a try
  3. Yeah, I’m about to retire (from work, not playing bass!) and thinking of buying it. 🤔😂
  4. Impending retirement means that I need to de-clutter, beginning with some of my beloved basses. A Beautiful bass bought from here in 24, with a great sound, which I am just not using much. It is the real deal with gorgeous looks and construction in my honest opinion. Someone out there will love it. It is also loud enough to practice with without an amp IMHO! Happy to post as it comes with a generic hard case that fits archtop basses "The Gretsch G5442BDC Electromatic Hollow Body Short Scale bass guitar has a comfortably short scale at 30.25", and is armed with two powerful "Black Top" Filter'Tron™ bass pickups, giving it an electrifying deep-end voice and identity. The double-cutaway hollow and bound body offers full bass tone and balance, and is finished in Transparent Red." Note: I have been asked about neck dive, just in case you are worried about that this is my answer. "I can't say that it has bothered me,. Being an true hollow body/archtop It is very light and hangs horizontally, but it feels normal to rest my right arm on the body, which pushes the neck upwards to a comfortable, natural playing position. It also feels good sitting down. I imagine that the longer scale Gretsch hollows may have serious neck dive". G5442BDC Spec sheet.pdf

    Darkglass Anagram

what do you think the plan is with 3rd party blocks? If I were Darkglass it almost would make sense to focus on the drives and comp (which Darkglass are known for) and let others develop the other stuff?
  6. Hi, using my trusty scales, it weighs in at 4.2 KG, which rounds up to 9.3lbs Not sure but it has Bart pickups, which is the same as the later models e.g. SR5005. I would guess late?

  10. Quite clearly says £5600 in the title!
  11. Stunning wood top !
  12. £50 price reduction Trades - X Touch Universal. Try me with anything, I can only say no 😁 Great bass in good condition, comes with hard case. Short scale. Not a heavy bass. Plays well. Not really any damage to speak of. There’s a little bit at the top of the headstock (photographed) but looks much worse than it actually is. I’ve removed the strap lock pins and replaced them with the originals that were odd when I got it. The case is old but fully function and all the clasps work. Can post at buyers expense or can be collected from BB22SH Any questions please ask.

  13. I had the stereo and sold it. Regretted it and bought the mono. It really is the Swiss Army knife of amp world. I’ve got a Markbass Evo 1 to try out at the moment which basically, has the Multiamp amps and effects but has two independent channels, which is exactly what I need. I think it’s what I’ve been looking for, for a long time 😁

  16. Basschat first got interested in these over 10 years ago - I blame @Clarky It was that thread that led to me ordering a matching Crazy 88 from Guy Trigg (who seems to be no longer a Member here): https://www.facebook.com/trickyaudio/?locale=en_GB He was/is building them under licence from Greenboy in the USA: https://www.greenboy.us/ https://www.greenboy.us/cabs/view.php?model=Crazy88 Just to confirm those dimensions in metric: H 57cm x W 27cm x D 35cm, Weight 12.5Kg The cab is 4 Ohms.
  17. This cab isn't just for DB but it's enough of a boutique DB item that it's worth posting the link to the sale thread here too.
  18. Trying to wean myself off preamps for use at doubling gigs, so I'm listing a couple today. First up is this one: https://www.bassgearmag.com/radial-tonebone-bassbone-v2-pedal/ Famously built like a tank, it's a classic Swiss Army Knife of a pedal which does pretty much everything you're likely to need at a gig. The tone-sculpting allows either seamless switching between DB and electric or two different tones from a single bass, it has no problems handling piezo pickups, it's a great DI box, etc. etc. etc. Original power supply but - to my annoyance - I can't find the original packaging, even though I'm sure that I have it somewhere. 🙁 Condition is flawless & functional, very nearly pristine. That's why it's "very nearly" pristine ... four little patches of removable velcro on the bottom. Apart from that velcro, it's perfect. Everything works exactly as it should.
  19. Gregor form BassTheWorld is a big fan!
  20. Happy Jack's Great Exotic Sale continues with this quite remarkable pedal. How to describe what it does? Best read this: https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/audio-sprockets-tonedexter That review is for the original ToneDexter which is what I am selling. Original packaging, power supply & manual, as you can see. By its very nature, this isn't a pedal that gets chucked into gig bags and knocked about at gigs, so this is in pristine condition. If there's a mark on it, then I can't find it. Smaller than you'd think, too. You can't buy these new any more, but the V2 replacement is this one: https://www.andertons.co.uk/audio-sprockets-tonedexter-2-acoustic-guitar-preamp/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=surfaces&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20736322037&gbraid=0AAAAADujoUrZPlhasp7Z7MDPcIjO7Cnyt&gclid=Cj0KCQjwh5vFBhCyARIsAHBx2wzoSIwW07QUzI0kxlO4PRfLLAuySRBXjVY8ZKQoc6XWvrMM3LVfcRcaArDKEALw_wcB I used this a lot when I was gigging a Zeller ply bass and a Kolstein Busetto, both of those with utterly gorgeous tone, alongside my custom-built Ali-Kat aluminium bass ... which looks astonishing but can't even begin to compete on tone. These days, I no longer actually own a traditional DB of any sort () so the ToneDexter is getting very little use.
  21. Oscar Schmidt by Washburn Guitars. https://www.oscarschmidt.com/instrument-type/autoharps/ 😎
  22. I should probably have mentioned that it comes with the original Owner's Manual.
  23. That's a great sound!
