I'm thinking about tilting my 1212 schroeder cab by using a wedge. Wanted to know if anyone has experience with one of these or where to buy one. I notice Markbass do one.
Suggestions?
MB1. :)

I'm not sure if it's possible with the Schro', but if you have a cab with push in wheels, pop the back two out and it points the front of the cab upward. I guess the bigger the wheels, the larger the angle it 'kicks back'.

Failing that - MB1's idea is by far the simplest.

I used my 1212L on a cab stand so that it was closer to me and at the right angle. I've used everything on that stand and have only just recently gone back to having my cab behind me after using a stand for the past 15 years

Then again, I don't think a 2x15" would fit :)

I was a bit concerned about placing the cab on an actual stand because surely it'll lose some bottom end will it not?
My cab hasn't got castors either.
My schroeder is loud enough but I'd prefer it at a tilt so the sound projects better towards my ears.
Having looked at the Markbass wedge, I'm not sure it would work with my cab as from what I can gather it velcors onto the cab. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Any thoughts?

Have you tried it on its end? The angled speaker can make a difference. I'm told..

Disconnectiong from the floor? That's an interesting question but as I always use a GRAMMA pad to disconnect my cabs from the floor and to get a clearer and less boomy sound I'm possibly not the best person to express an opinion. :)

Try it in a stand/beer crate/chair/other cab/case/whatever and then get a long enough lead, or wireless, to wander down to the dance floor during sound check and see if it makes a significant difference.

My opinion is that too much bass is way more of a problem than not enough. You get loads of middle with the 1212L anyway as it's not a bassey box.

I use one of the Markbass jobbies all the time. I got sick of trailing round for crates and chairs etc. My Epi UL310 is quite deep so often chairs weren't big enough. For what it is its expensive, but it folds flat and the velcro sticks to the carpet covering on my cab so it stays in place. I prefer it to raising the cab - especially in confined spaces. Best compromise for hearing yourself and retaining some floor contact and bottom end.

I got a Markbass stand for my combo but never really got on with it. I always had the feeling that the bass disappeared when using it

I use a cut down version of this underneath my Aggie GS112 and LMII.

It flexes a bit but seems man enough to support the cab and amp no problem. When travelling to and from gigs it sits on the cab under the padded cover. I made it slightly narrower so that it didn't stick out either side of the cab. The cut off strip I use on the top of the cab to stop the amp slipping backwards as there's a convenient lip which fits over the front of the cab and then provides a lip to support the back of the amp.

I'll post some pics of it in action if anyones interested.

There, bet you never know that Ikea catered for bassists :)

You could always get some sticky backed velcro and stick that to the bottom if the cab. That or get a combo stand like THIS or perhaps THIS

Need to clean the carp off your lens :)
How did that get there??

(Was going to do a photoshop job, but the first image result when I googled 'carp' was this so I can't be bothered now )

Back on topic - I'd forgotten about those Mark stands. Suddenly, I really really want one!
