a totally awesome bass (i got a magnum 1 just before christmas and its amazing). It has all the ingredients for bass perfection: ebony, mahogany, brass, carbon-fibre, individual string volumes, and complete hideousness.

do any of you have experience with dhgate? what do you think of this seller? seems like a few people have been unhappy with what arrived, but then you can't really fake a magnum, it's been scientifically proven to be impossible, so is it a horrible financial trap, or a golden opportunity?

What's the import tax like from china?
anyone imported anything from there?

cheers,
rich

i think there are arguments either way. the pictures are certainly of an original magnum. the feedback indicates that the majority of buyers were satisfied and the one who received a different les paul to that pictured still recieved a les paul. and that would hardly be a possible mistake with a magnum. also, considering the lack of english skills demonstrated, it would seem an obscure bass to use in any attempted scam when a fender etc would likely sell more readily???

hmmmm...

Rich I genuinely dont like the look of that...... If it looks too good to be true, believe there is a good reason for that...

That is a cheap price so I feel there is a 50/50 chance of it being real, if they are odds you like and you can afford to lose £250, have a punt, but dont be surprised if you get burnt.....

I recently turned away from a chinese seller who was (allegedly) punting 4 PRS EB IVs. The pics looked very convincing but I am now in excess of 90% sure it was a scam.

But then this is you and your money.......... :)

I would expect that if you get anything at all for your money, you'll get a cheap nasty copy worth about £100. If you're lucky it'll look a bit like the one in the pic if you squint from 100yards away. Even that website is a knockoff.

Also I wouldn't trust anyone that uses the comic sans font on anything.
