What's your target audience, band look 'n feel, style, venue type?

We don't really have a target audience as such, but we like to have a mix of songs that would appeal to most.

Do you have to attract the audience yourself or does someone else do that?

We tend to have to attract the audience ourselves.

What's your line up?

Bass, Guitar, Vocals and Drums

What do you like playing?

Pretty much the type of stuff thats listed in our sets.

Yeah, i agree. Whenever we play it everyone loves it. We also get a great reaction to L.A Woman by the Doors.

Cheers for your suggestions so far guys, much appreciated.

Been thinking about doing Kansas - Carry on Wayward Son, but i don't know if its too cheesy.

OK, That helps.
Some great suggestions so far ..

I'd suggest raiding the songbooks of all the three piece bands for their big hits:
The Who
Zed Zed Top
The Jam
Free
Bad Co
Queen

I've seen a band with your line up do some off the wall things that work really well too:

Sweet Nothings (by Brenda Lee)
Reet Petite and Gone (Loius Jordan)
Caledonia (BB King version)

Poppa was a Rolling Stone
Move on Up

Cheers,
OG

No they are not, but i know what you mean. Molly's Chambers is a Kings of Leon tune. - woops, did not see previous post.

Some great set lists and suggestions BTW.

With the Blues band we used to be, with two guitars, keys and a bit of sax:

Jimi Hendrix - Hey Joe
Eric Clapton - Old Love
Rolling Stones - Miss You
Howlin' Wolf - Killing Floor
BB King - The Thrill Is Gone
& a couple of originals

Now, with our restructured band just bass, drums, guitar, vox (as our guitarist stated, "we are now like a power trio, but with 4 of us")
Jamiroquai - Deeper Underground
Santana - Black Magic Woman
Gary Moore (I think) - Oh, Pretty Woman
David Bowie - Let's Dance
James Brown - Play That Funky Music
Plus others we have yet to decide, and a couple of the previous ones

I did suggest Aeroplane by the Chilis, just so I can solo, but wouldn't go down brilliantly by an average audience I reckon

Tinman - looks like we could nearly dep for each other at a moment's notice!

This is the set-list for our last gig. We don't really take a break except for the house DJ to announce what the drinks specials are and that the night club is opening soon or stuff like that.

Note: The capitals doesn't mean I'm shouting - I just copy/pasted from our set-list.

1. I DON'T WANNA BE - GAVIN DEGRAW
2. HEY JOE - JIMI HENDRIX
3. BEFORE I FALL TO PIECES - RAZORLIGHT
4. WHEN YOU WERE YOUNG - THE KILLERS
5. SOMEBODY TOLD ME - THE KILLERS
6. LONGVIEW - GREEN DAY
7. ALIVE - PEARL JAM
8. I PREDICT A RIOT - KAISER CHIEFS
9. RUBY - KAISER CHIEFS
10. INSIDE - STILTSKIN
11. FANTASY - THE BLIZZARDS
12. YOU ARE ALL THAT I HAVE - SNOW PATROL
13. DAKOTA - STEREOPHONICS
14. HUSH - KULA SHAKER / DEEP PURPLE
15. DRAMA QUEEN - SWITCHES
16. BOHEMIAN LIKE YOU - DANDY WARHOLS
17. SUBURBAN KNIGHTS – HARD FI
18. SAVE TONIGHT - EAGLE EYE CHERRY
19. SNOW - RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
20. DANNI CALIFORNIA - RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
21. YOU SHOOK ME ALL NIGHT LONG - AC/DC
22. NO-ONE KNOWS - QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE
23. SOLITARY MAN - HIM
24. ALL THE SMALL THINGS - BLINK 182
25. VERTIGO - U2
26. MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 2 - LIMP BIZKIT
27. KILLING IN THE NAME - RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE
28. BY THE WAY - RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
29. MY WAY - LIMP BIZKIT
30. WHAT I'VE DONE - LINKIN PARK
31. MR BROWNSTONE - GUNS 'N' ROSES
32. SONG 2 - BLUR
33. THE SAINTS ARE COMING - U2 & GREEN DAY
34. MINORITY - GREEN DAY
35. HOLIDAY - GREEN DAY

We also used to do these songs and sometimes pull a few of them out of the hat if the gig requires it, but we dropped them mainly cos either no-one knew them or we couldn't make them work.

Sure, you get guys coming up saying "Slither was f*!king amazing, man!" and "I LOVED Times Like These!"

But just 4 or 5 guys liking a song, no matter how much, isn't enough reason to keep a song in the set.

34. ROADHOUSE BLUES - THE DOORS
35. SLITHER - VELVET REVOLVER
36. TIMES LIKE THESE - FOO FOGHTERS
37. TELL ME BABY - RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
38. LAST NIGHT - THE STROKES
39. STEADY AS SHE GOES - THE RACCONTEURS
40. HARD TO HANDLE - BLACK CROWES
41. TAKE ME OUT - FRANZ FERDINAND
42. BASKET CASE - GREEN DAY
43. STACEY'S MOM - FOUNTAINS OF WAYNE
44. BLACK NIGHT - DEEP PURPLE
45. WHEN A BLIND MAN CRIES - DEEP PURPLE
46. GIRLS & BOYS - GOOD CHARLOTTE
47. WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS - GREEN DAY
48. FLC/JUMP AROUND - FLC/STEREO MCs
49. WHITE WEDDING - BILLY IDOL
50. SHE SELLS SANCTUARY - THE CULT

We're currently working on Chelsea Dagger by The Fratellis, Pretty Fly by Offspring, Fat Lip by Blink 182, Lithium by Nirvana, Butterfly by Crazy Town, Back In Black by AC/DC, Land Of Confusion (Disturbed's version) and I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor by Arctic Bastards (I hate them).

Me & the drummer are also learning 11 of my mate's original songs to record in January.
