I have thought about this long and hard and she has to go to a good home. She has been sat in a corner since I got the Status Buzzard and that ain't fair on this quite remarkable instrument.
Got her last year from NY. Built in 2003 and I am the only owner. She was based on an Essence, but with a MASSIVE upgrade! Here is the spec:

top and back: Flame Maple
accents: Purpleheart laminate and Maple pinstripe
body: Walnut
neck: 5-piece Maple and Purpleheart
scale: 34" long
fingerboard: Ebony
inlays: Mother of Pearl
body shape: Exploiter
construction: Hollow core
electronics: "Signature" volume, pan, filter x2, Q-switch x2, mono outout
finish: Polyester gloss body, satin neck
tailpiece: Solid brass bird
birthday: December 5, 2003
originally made for: Joey G's Music

She comes in an Alembic hard case with the various tools needed for adjustments and she is in PERFECT condition - you want the sound of The Ox from the 70's? Here it is!

To buy this bass new, to the above specs, would be $9250 + $200 (case) + $150 (shipping) =$9600. This equates to £5844.51. THEN you have to add 20% for import duties and V.A.T (£1168.90) - a grand total of £7013.41 to buy this beast new.
I am looking for £2750 for a quick sale and any serious offers will be carefully considered. Payment by cash or bankers draft (item sent after funds cleared of course). Postage and packing is included to UK mainland, but will post to Europe.

Here are links to video's (all Who tracks!) I have made with her so you can see and hear her in action.

however, IIRC John used this model in the 80s, did he not?[/quote]

Thanks.
He used his Exploiter from the mid 70's onward, till the last gig with them at Live Aid.

Eh up James! How are ya?

This is the lowest I'm going now tbh - I'd rather keep her! Actually the starting bid on Ebay is £2650, so I would take that..... we'll have to wait and see if anyone wants a bargain!!!!
