OutToPlayJazz
I have a vague recollection of Ashdown producing basses recently & remember reading about it on the long lost bassworld server. Anyone remember what the hell they were called? I seem to remember that they were a little bit like a Trace/Status T-bass or something like that. Is my grey matter taking over? Erm, nope... That'll be obvious when I start spelling 'gray' like an American!
Matty
They go by the name of Lodestone Basses. Some good, original takes on the classics. http://www.lodestoneguitars.com/
grapevinebass
Interesting one this. Their website did not change from January until last month. They now seem to have some available, but their dealers listed on the website do not have any stock, nor any information. No prices stated, nor anywhere to buy them. I was quite interested in buying a bass from them, having an interest in unusual instruments. I had emailed them for info, and was promised a launch early summer - but nothing was forthcoming. So I gave up, and bought a Lakland from Paul_C. (nice instrument, thanks Paul).

Buzz
That Primal Bass looks lovely, I'd really like to try one.
Telebass
Ah, now I'm lucky here. I'm getting a loan of one of these from Ashdown so's I can road-test it! I just asked the rrep and he said, "Sure no problem". So I'll be telling you what I can, when I can!
BigRedX
They were on display at this years LGS, but I wasn't able to try one out. Got to say for all the really good practical design features on the bass it's got to be the most ugly J-clone I've ever seen...

Rich
That headstock is a face only a mother could love. Ug-leeeeeeee.
Delberthot
Yeah, they say the headstock is a "Lodestone Breakthrough" - isn't this just the same design that was on the original T-Bass?
steve-soar
Though Status do it much better.
Telebass
It truly is ugly, as a headstock, and a bass generally, but I'll give it a whirl...me with an active bass! Far out, man...
Jean-Luc Pickguard
It looks like it was designed in the 80s when everything had to be "modern". Shame Ned Steinberger wasn't given the design brief.
