Need a few stand alone 'tune' suggestions

Started with the Bass this year.
Playing with a band doing mostly 'radio 2' stuff (covers).
Most of my practice is playing to a mix of the tunes we play, i.e with the rest of the band or with the original music.

I'm looking for a few 'tunes' to learn as stand alone that sound good with just the bass.
i.e. something to play without the band or other instruments.

Any suggestions ?

Some tab or music or even just some titles to search for would be great.

Thanks.

Hysteria by Muse, recommended above, would be a nice little work out. I'd recommend a few more - Knights of Cydonia, especially, if you fancy the tap.

I'm a little harder in my personal tastes, unfortunately - would suggest half the RATM back catalogue, but I don't think that remotely tallies with your Radio 2 suggestion!

Thanks, but would need a bit more info to find these as I'm not familiar with the titles.
I've looked for all these on 'Last.fm' and each have pages of versions so I don't realy know where to start.
Who are these by ?

Thanks for the suggestions.
Hysteria by Muse sounds interesting - I'll take a look into that one anyway.

My mention of 'Radio2' was not a spec for what I'm looking for, but just an indication of what I've been playing.

What I'm really looking for is some stand alone tunes - not part of a band mix played on it's own, or else I'm back to learing it with the band mix.

Are there any staight forward Bass only tunes out there I could try?
Is there a good book (internet site) with some Music/Tab to learn from ?

summertime is by george and ira gershwin
girl is by tom jobin
a train and satin doll are duke ellington numbers

i have googled for the sheet music but cant find a site which will give full piano score without buying it
musicnotes is good but they only give a taster

all of the above are simple tunes
summertime is a negro blues
girl is bossa nove
dukes stuff is timeless and flexible jazz

will post any further info

the reason i offered them is because thats the music i like and doesnt need a hard drum tempo to carry it along
its melodic and full of emotion
have a look at some bach, there is a thread on here somewhere with a url to a website where you can download many scores free
the inventions are good but usually require two instruments

mozarts air on a g string...castella ad...is a good bassline

slow movements from symphonies and piano concerto adagio sections

simpler the better so that sonority and dynamic is more important than chops

I'm a bit of an rock/indie player so I find that these work well with just bass:

Soul to Squeeze and Universally Speaking by The Red Hot Chilli Peppers

Love Will Tear Us Apart and She's Lost Control by Joy Division

I also once worked out the guitar riff and rhythm guitar part (i.e. no the solo) to La Tristess Durera by the Manic Street Preachers for bass - it worked quite well.

I've hardly played in the last 3 years so I can only really manage the Joy Division ones now!
