Love all your Warwicks! :)

Here is mine. Sadly only a corvette standard but still a German Warwick. Made is 2002 from Bubinga. Owned from new. Usually come with chrome hardware but mine came with black which suits it much better in my opinion. Also came with seymour duncan basslines pick ups which I found out Dirk Lance from incubus supposedly used seymour duncans in is stage II which made me happy as he was probably my biggest influences! I didn't spec the upgrades. I actually had nothing to do with ordering my bass so got kinda lucky!
I got some Black Label strings for Christmas. What is peoples opinions on the Warwick strings? I've only ever used mainly Blacks and Reds a couple of times. It is the tapered B that annoys me as I don't want to file my bridge. Am I stuck with warwick strings or is there better, similarly priced ones with a tapered B?

No arty grassy or pebble pictures either! I must get round to cleaning it to.

Don't underestimate the Corvette STD. I love the way they sound!
True they used to be the cheaper model but the cost of building them was close to that of other models back in the day.
Just as good as any other Wawick!

It does sound good. Especially through the trace. I asked warwick a few questions I had and one was the new German basses. They cost at least 2000€ more than the pro series.

"Every instrument is now one-of-a-kind and made from individually-selected woods and equipped with high-tech features such as Invisible Fretwork Technology and our ultra-thin UV lacquer that dries in seconds. Also, as of 2013, our Made in Germany instruments now come with CNC-routed brass bridges, and Wenge necks."

Is that really worth an extra 2,000€? Not that I could ever afford one. Is there anything else different?

No, but marketing allows this and people do buy them for that kinda money.

This also creates a huuuge gap between prices of new instruments and used ones, although prices for certain used market models have gone up as well over the last two years or so.
Still, I'd sooner buy a used German model then any of the pro series or rockbass series models. With musical instruments I try to avoid buying new anyway.

It was all much simpler when I had mine..

If you wanted a 'cheaper one' you bought a passive Fortress, Corvette or Streamer STD then in the middle were the BO / LX models and finally the super expensive ones with solid necks and/or custom shop variants.

And they were ALL made in Germany..

Not that I have an issue about them being made elsewhere as well as Germany, it's just that the series of models seems to have become very complicated and the prices seem to be heading up hill too.

I expect Warwick is a much bigger company than it was when I had mine. It's still the best bass I've ever owned, 13 years down the line is testament to that.

Waaaw totally gutted I missed the early dolphin5 on the warwick forum last week. I dont often go on it as its impossible to use on an iPhone and rarely browse on anything else. Today i had a look on the laptop. Gah!

It went immediately bud from the looks of it, in fact I think it may have been on the cards before the advert even went up.
