I should be able to make it. I'm just waiting to get the gig dates for the brass band I'll be working with (I will write more about that under my "non rock'n'roll bassist" thread

Hope you can make it even if it's just for the morning.

Yep that's Andy Solloway. Nice guy and has done work on a couple of my guitars in the past. Haven't had the occasion to see him since moving from York though.

that was a wierd 30 min on google... I have an acoustic 6 string that was made by a Yorkshire luthier who then made resonators.... no google search joy but gemini tracked him down, different guy Steve Evans later Beltona resonators.... anyway

I have put the date in the diary and will confer with the other half... tbh last time I came it was sunny and I thought it would be fun to walk up the hill behind the hall too!

Had no idea there was such a demand for resonators from Yorkshire!!

Well worth it, and there's loads of walks in the vicinity if you're not feeling ambitious enough to tackle one of the three peaks.

Hey peeps, I'm afraid I'm out. SWMBO gleefully informed me that we are having a long weekend in Iceland, whcih tbh I have been wanting to do for a bit.  So sorry to miss friends this year but hopefully see you all at the next one.  Please do lots of pics.

So you'd rather go and see volcanos, waterfalls, geysers, drink hyper expensive alcohol, lots of black ash rather than spending a day with a bunch of bassists in a village hall in Yorkshire?

Just checking....

Attendees

@rwillett - A couple of 3d printed basses or guitars, this will encourage me to finish my next two off. A couple of 8" Basschat cabinets. Might be interesting to try these with other peoples amps. One is quite loud, not quite finished the other one so not sure quite how loud they go. Since I'm about 100m away, I might bring anything or everything. Might even bring and setup a 3d printer if people are interested.  If there is any interest and you need something thats more than a few hours to print, let me know well in advance.

@neepheid

@Frank Blank

@Stub Mandrel - TBC

@zbd1960 - TBC

@ead - For some reason prefers Iceland (the country) to the Yorkshire Dales

@ossyrocks

@lee650

@80Hz

@peterjam - TBC

Lots of TBC's so hopefully we can firm up on numbers. So as you confirm, please add any equipment you might be bringing and update this.

Would like to

@rwillett Love to play some older basses to see what they are really like preferably with some old school valve amp heads. Would also love to play around with some amp modellers (I already have a Mod Dwarf and a ToneX) to see how they sound in comparison.

I heard you keep them in a special shed.

A sort of Jabba Hut.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out...

Right folks, help me decide what to take.  Don't clutter up the thread, DM me and tell me if there's anything you'd specifically like to see/play from the following:

Epiphone Les Paul Standard bass - modded - DiMarzio X2N-B pickups, series/parallel, Babicz bridge etc.
Epiphone Jack Casady (20th Anniversary) - unmodded
G&L CLF L-1000 - unmodded
Reverend Triad - modded - Freeway 10 way switch
Yamaha BB1200 - unmodded
Sire Z7 - unmodded
Epiphone Thunderbird '64 - unmodded
Greco LPB-700 - modded - Freeway 6 way switch
Burny (Fernandes) LSB-80 - modded - Kent Armstrong lipstick pickups, Artec EXP active mid range control
DeArmond Jet Star Spel - modded - Peavey T-40 pickup added, series/single switch for T-40
Neep One - custom bitsa - Warman MM4/Roswell large pole piece J pickups, Artec SE-2 preamp, Hipshot hardware
Fazely Hot Rod (the Ratlet) - modded - Tonerider Duke P pickup
Yamaha SB500S - temporarily repaired, therefore modded with a Tonerider Duke J pickup in the bridge position
Cort Curbow - modded - Bartolini USA MK4CBC pickup, series/single/parallel switch, Glockenklang 3 band EQ
Epiphone Mike Dirnt G-3 - unmodded
Ibanez ATK200 - modded - Warman MM4 pickup

Don't be shy, noise me up.  Otherwise I'll just take whatever I fancy out of this lot, and I will likely favour things which weren't there last year.  Probably shouldn't take 16 basses with me lest it become a case of "I'll have this hall, where are all the rest of you going?" ;)

Cheers!
