Is anyone into Can,i have really got into there stuff at the moment its very original and seems to be a big influence on a lot of bands who have been very good,i never realised the mondays covered hallaluwah as hallalujah. There is some pretty cool and funky bass playing on the documentary im watching about them.

I've only got Tago Mago, but by 'eck it kicks serious arse. I've always meant to get hold of more Can.

I thought the Mondays song was not quite a cover... more a 'reimagining', to use the parlance so beloved of film-makers these days. A blatant rip-off.

i'm a massive fan of can.

jaki liebezeit is, imho, one of the best drummers ever, and i'll not even get started on holger czukay's genius minimal bass playing.

love them...in fact, when hope sandoval's album has finished, i'm putting on 'future days'

Love Can, very good call.
Not only the Mondays, but they in particular Jaki Liebezeit, were a big influence on Joy Division too.

Not withstanding being an innovative bassist, Holger Czukay was also way ahead as far as sampling too.
The 1983 collaboration 'Snakecharmer' between Czukay, Jah Wobble, The Edge & Liebezeit still blows me away. Funky as f*** :)
