uk_lefty Posted yesterday at 14:24 Posted yesterday at 14:24 Temu 5x guitar wall hanger (I haven't fitted 1/3 of the back plate yet), my absolutely dreadful DIY skills... What could go wrong??? There's a stack of soft cases on the floor just in case the worst does happen! 2 Quote
Judo Chop Posted yesterday at 14:56 Posted yesterday at 14:56 Cool, what are those weird looking basses at the back? 3 Quote
Reggaebass Posted yesterday at 15:01 Posted yesterday at 15:01 Won’t they knock against each other there lefty, or is there more space than it looks Quote

I probably need to add the third back panel if I'm going to keep more than three instruments hanging here. The set comes with three back panels and five hangers. They stick out almost a foot from the wall which is... Different. 1 Quote
binky_bass Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Hate to say it, but don't be surprised if your collection ends up in a heap on the floor with a wall mount like that. The distance from the wall will add much more pressure on the screws holding the thing up. Get a few second hand Hercules wall mounts. I have 30 or so of them, some mounted to dry wall (with the right rawl plugs) and they've not let me down carrying heavy loads (some 7 string basses) for years. They're not a foot proud of the wall either! You can normally pick them up for a tenner second hand, maybe less if you get someone selling a batch. 3 Quote
rwillett Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Looked at that and thought the same thing. Two screws and two levers each 200mm ish from wall and each with 4kg on the end. A lot of leverage for two screws to handle. No idea what wall it's connected to and how long the screws are but I'd be worried. Quote
uk_lefty Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago The screws are much longer and better quality than I was expecting. I have been very careful with this and will continue to be, only the lightest weight stuff going on there. I think four guitars on there is too many, I will only keep two or three on there at a time and none of the expensive ones! Quote

I have some individual hangers to fit elsewhere in the room for the "posh" instruments! 1 Quote

However, I don't trust it for anything heavier than an Ashbory. Quote
binky_bass Posted 56 minutes ago Posted 56 minutes ago Most of these are Hercules, some are String Swing, which are also decent. I've put more up in the studio since that photo was taken and have 8 more on walls in the house. None have failed yet! Quote
Gank Bass Posted 34 minutes ago Posted 34 minutes ago Beware of the foamy grip material on cheap hangers, it can perish in a short space of time and get very stubborn gunk stuck to the necks! Unfortunately speaking from experience Quote
