kevin_lindsay Posted July 12 Posted July 12 (edited) When I'm bored, I do a new build. This is my latest. Poplar P-Bass body (i was inspired to use Poplar when I found out that the new Pino Stingrays would use this wood) Rothko and Frost Paisley Paper (over £33 for each sheet for the front and rear!!! Aaaagh!!) Custom wound pickup CTS pots Roasted flamed maple neck - i used white mother of pearl side dots to make them easier to see against the darkened maple when gigging. Nitrocellulose lacquer used on the body and the neck Lollipop tuners Edited Friday at 06:16 by kevin_lindsay 12 Quote

snorkie635 Posted Thursday at 16:23 Posted Thursday at 16:23 Kevin, I salute you. Very, very classy. I envy you your obvious talent. To think I was in Motherwell yesterday and had no idea I was orbiting genius! 👍 1 1 Quote
Mykesbass Posted Thursday at 18:16 Posted Thursday at 18:16 Blooming lovely. Is that green a true representation of what it looks like in the flesh? Inspired choice if it is. Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted Thursday at 18:47 Author Posted Thursday at 18:47 (edited) The green is the colour the Shoreline Gold became when the yellowed lacquer was applied Edited Thursday at 18:52 by kevin_lindsay 1 1 Quote
Jackroadkill Posted Thursday at 21:42 Posted Thursday at 21:42 Man, that's very nice indeed.... I had (and stupidly sold) a paisley Telecaster, and have wanted a bass in the same scheme for ages. Quote
tauzero Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I like the way you've concealed the control cavity. Blends in nicely. 1 Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago Yeah, i sprayed Shoreline Gold on the underside of the clear pickguard, to conceal the control cavity. After doing that, I also applied copper shielding tape on that area of the pickguard, to assist with the control cavity screening. Quote
